The very last weatherstrip that I haven't replaced yet. Mine is actually in very good condition however I'm worried that it may have shrunk a bit and collapsed. Something I noticed when I fitted my new door and roof seals was just how much extra pressure is needed to close the doors and secure the targas.

The reason I ask is that over rough road surfaces, my boot does rattle and vibrate a little. I have adjusted the catch as far as it will go, fitted new boot rubbers and checked the location points for the hinges, the condition and operation of the gas struts and all is in order.

If anyone has replaced their boot seals, did you notice things were a little quieter? I'd imagine they're likely to be.

But it's nothing to do with the screen....

Surely you’ve done this 100xs yourself every time you paint your car? :?

You're as bad as Nick! I'm not talking about the glass seal!!!

Didn’t mention anything like that... your referring to the body to tailgate seal no?

Doh, my eyes must have autopilited that tech drawing to the ones I’ve been looking at for glass seals!

To be honest I always thought the inner boot seal was one long piece

Yes however on your post, why would I have bought a new one because of repaint? It's a simple press-fit seal not something that can only be removed when wanting a repaint.

You wouldn’t, but surely you know what state it’s in if you’ve removed it each time you’ve painted the car... you’ve said it’s in good nick, so you will only know by replacing it. You need to appreciate that your on a whole different plane of anal to most of us, most of don’t replace every last bolt and seal that’s not faulty.

Like I said, it looks in good condition, but I am worried it's collapsed and lost strength and because I don't have a new one to compare it to, I'm asking the question as to whether anyone has fitted one and noticed any difference in acoustics....
