Just a quick one for anyone who’s looking for insurance quotes in the near future.

I just spent a bit of time on the phone reading out the spec of my car in order to get a new quote, to which I was asked the question “are you planning on taking the car on track?” , to which I replied “yes, maybe once or twice a year”.

Their reply was “Sorry we cannot offer you cover as you plan on taking you car onto a track”. My response was “I could take any private car on track, what’s the difference here?” To which I couldn’t get a straight answer.

I’ve never had this issue before, and frankly I think it’s ludicrous!

So a warning to those, if you’re asked if you take your car on to a track, regardless of how infrequently that may be, they may refuse to cover or quote you

Can I point something out on all of this? Anyone realised that Lancaster have a banned on here and I assume therefore I assume a trader on here.... so why on earth are they on here if they won't cover the cars?

INSURANCE GOOFA

Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Hi all,

I appreciate that some of you have perhaps not been quoted the kind of prices you wanted. I can only apologise if you have previously had a bad experience with ourselves and that we could not find a price that was suitable for you. Different insurers are better for different people. If we were competitive every time we'd be the only ones in the industry.

Obviously no one is under any obligations to try ourselves for insurance, however we are here if needed.

As AF are nothing more than a registered user on here, should "they" even be posting about insurance and what they can potentially offer...?

Duly noted Si.....

......But this year, AF has appointed an agent to act on their behalf with regards to marketing, forum memberships etc etc. There has been a slight delay in their renewal process because of it - IE the agents have to follow certain procedures, obtain quotes, orders and the like. I have received the formal e-mail this week, so AF will be resubbing as a trader in the next few days!

Any issues, please let one of us know...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Just thought id add to this. I had my zed insured with lancaster last year. The missus mx5 was insured this year and we have just cancelled it as we sold it. The cancellation fees ended up being higher than the original quote and the lady on the phone seemed reluctant in helping me other than reading off a script explaining that we had ample to to cancel policy and wasny really interested when i tried to tell her that we called as soon as our docs came through as the price had gone up. I went on to say that my car was insured with them last year and they jad no record of this even arguing with me when i said they game me an agreed valuation for free. She said they were specialists in insuring classic cars. I pointed her to this very thread and said about the advert in the corner. She said that things change and maybe that its not financially viable to insure zeds anymore. Another unhappy customer for lancaster and their actual insurers zenith marques.

Maybe the advert should be removed.

So been watching this thread develop and on the whole has been somewhat informative and revealing.

Lancaster Insurance is a club trading partner and seems to be very selective with insurance quotes to members and also seems to happily not follow the rules set out by their own legal bodies.

Maybe it is time the forum contacted said insurance company and asked them to reply to the unhappy customers on the very forum they have trader status which affords them a supply of viewing customers.

In the meantime anyone who feels unhappy with their services I would suggest contacting their complaints department here >>https://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/my-quote/complaints/

If there is no resolution the next stage is the ombudsman here >> http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/

Also to help the committee in their role, to those that have described what they and other`s consider bad customer service, make a trader complaint to the trade liaison officer here >> Groover (Graham Jones) ~ Trading Liaison Officer groover@300zx.co.uk ( is this still correct ???)

As mention by someone in the thread, Dan from Adrian flux was making insurance sales pitch, whilst been a registered member, I see this was spoken about but still seems unchanged, in fact earlier in the month Dan made a post for Christmas opening times whilst a registered member, why was this allowed, I and many here must of seen when a member who`s subs have run out with out realising and tries to sell something get`s jumped on from a great height?? ... please discuss...

As a final note, why is the issue`s on this not been dealt with yet? is the membership fee not partly to assist with bad service like this?

Jeff

Its all in hand Jeff so dont worry about Adrain Flux's subscription. As for what cars any of our Insurance traders choose to insure or reject is out of our control.

Thanks Gary - and yes; just o reiterate regarding Adrian Flux's traders' sub.....

....This year, AF has outsourced its purchasing to an third party entity called Maze Media. As a result, their renewal has been a little (ahem) protracted; since we had to quote for the sub, then wait for an official order - and finally issue a formal invoice. In previous years, it was just renewed by the click of a button....

But rest assured AF will be reinstated as a bona fide club trader imminently.

Yes I guessed the AF situation will be dealt with, Lancaster though and the choice of who to insure is of course at the traders discretion but the bad customer service which was been mentioned is something very different and wondered if they even aware that one their lucrative outlets is been marred quite possibly by their own employees without their knowledge and just to give them a chance to reply.

Agreed Jeff and I do find that when you call insurance companies up they read from a script and dont move from it. I myself asked Lancaster for a classic car insurance quote and was told they dont insure cars with my post code! Anyway if anyone feels hard done by then they have the right to complain.
