Hi all,

I'm currently looking for a 300ZX, used to have one about 7 years ago but ended up with a dog of a car lol

So I'm on the look out again.

I've posted elsewhere as I'm looking for info on a Manual black TT with the number plate H4BVE if anyone knows of its recent history or past.

Hello mate, welcome to the forum :)

Don't know of that car I'm afraid but there are some knowledgeable people on here. If you have pictures of any cars you're considering, stick em up here, someone may see something, good or bad and be able to advise. :clover:

Thanks for the welcome.. my budget is about 4.5k, hopefully can get something half decent for that.

I am also open to autos too.

The two cars below are in my price range and not a ludicrous distance away, if anyone knows them.

The H4BVE reg one does have a little info on here but it's from around 5-6 years ago. ..

A quick MOT history check says approach with deep pockets. You better ask the kids to give you the cash instead of socks and shaving foam this year as on Christmas Eve when the current MOT expires, you’re going to need some major structural and time consuming (expensive) repairs to the car.

The advisory items from previous MOTs sound alarm bells and on paper it looks like a restoration project so I would hope the price reflects this condition.

A previous advisory for damage to the structure could suggest previous accident damage:

Going back 10 years, the sill damage was already showing itself. As were the brake pipes which are a time consuming job to replace.

The L495 NUD reg seems to fair a lot better on the MOST checker

MOT.... Bloody auto correct lol

Welcome to the club, good luck with your search.

2002 Porsche C2 996 3.6
1991 Nissan 300zx TT Project

1995 Nissan 300zx TT Crashed 🥲

1997 Jaguar XK8 Scraped ☹️

L495 NUD looks ok. The front and rear bumpers are from a UK car, so as it’s an import I’d instantly pay attention to impact zones (which you would anyway). It’s certainly had some paint as that side on shot shows a mismatch of paint shade between the door and rear quarter:

I’m not sure what your budget is but these cars can demand quite a fee if the mechanicals aren’t up to scratch, so I’d make sure it’s all running smoothly. If the paint mismatch would bug you, you’ll obviously need to budget for future paint work and if it was my car, I’d have to revert that spoiler back to an OEM one and fit some more flattering wheels!

There’s no evidence of the sills being problematic as far as the MOT history is concerned but these go from the inside out so by the time they’re visible, it’s too late! Now that this car has been on UK roads for over 10 years, I would want to stick a borescope into the sill to inspect for corrosion as it’s a costly repair to rectify.

I’m happy to come and view any car with you if it helps.

Cheers mate,

I did think that the paint didn't look right. I've spoken to the guy and there's no paperwork or history... No alarm fitted.

I've been talking to the owner of this auto https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-/172908614216?_trkparms=pageci%3A8f2f1131-b1b6-11e7-ba51-74dbd1809e7e%7Cparentrq%3A2079216515f0aa18f84eafdbfffaa4e9%7Ciid%3A3&_mwBanner=1

MOT history is good, pretty much standard, has a cat 1 alarm and body work is very good apart from some delam on bonnet.

If it doesn't sell, I may go look at it tomorrow early morning before work. Atleast this guy seems to know what he's talking about unlike some other sellers.

I have got one coming over from Japan, which will be here around mid November. Its a TT LWB Auto, didn't mention it earlier because you were looking at manualsDSC05563.jpg

Hi and welcome aboard, I'm only in Ipswich and go to Colchester a lot, I lived there for 25 years.

I know of a white TT for sale in Colchester if your interested but don't know what he wants for it, if your interested pm me and I will give you his number

The blue one looks like it’s worth a look. Otherwise call off the search, that car being imported by the clubs official importer has your name all over it!

Definitely; the black one Gaz has posted looks an absolute gem....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If you want piece of mind go with gaswoz, he has imported several quality Zeds .

I am now an owner of a 300zx :)

I checked out the blue 300zx in South London and made the purchase.

If the weather improves I'll get it washed and add some pics. I'll also become a paid member over the next week or so.

Thanks for the welcome everyone and I hope to be an active member on these forums!

I purchased this one, not AndrewG's.

Needs a bonnet respray but body looks pretty solid with good arches. It standard apart from the stereo and the wheels.
