I'm after a bit of help. I bought some brembos which were believed to be R33 GTR but a believe they might be from something else as they look slightly different. Could be from a R34 or something maybe. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows.

The reasons I'm asking:

-I think they look slightly different.

-The larger of the piston dust which seem consistent with info i find online dust covers didn't fit (about 1-2mm too big for the bit they fit into.

I want to know if they'll fit before I waste time, but I'm struggling to find the distance between the brake caliper location bolts.

Any help would be brilliant:

He needs bad feed back for that Lee and reported to Ebay.

Lesson there lee NEVER pay as a friend payment

I know. See I would ask people to pay that way if I was to ever sell stuff, but I'd have been gutted I'd done that and sorted it out. Not to worry though :)

There's a full set on eBay now.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152621938820

I can't believe how much the value of these has gone up. I bought mine which included everything for about £350 only about 3 years ago! You can't get fronts for much less than £650 now although I was extremely lucky to get the ones I have for what I paid. I did put put another £800 into them as I replaced, refurbished and upgraded everything.

This is why I said ages ago to not bother looking for Skyline GTR ones and get some off a 350z instead. Markedly cheaper, easier to find and newer. The same applies to the discs too. Skyline tax.

The rears off a skyline whilst they are brembo are damn close to stock z32 rears anyway (z ones 2x 38mm Pistons with 297 diameter discs and skyline gtr 2x40mm Pistons and 300mm discs), non GTR models are the same calipers more or less, which is why I was able to sell my rears to a S Chassis owner for £200.

Get yourself a set of Z33 Brembos lee, refurb your stock rears and that's that. The Z33 Brembos probably won't even need rebuilding.

I wasn't willing to have mismatched calipers. I wanted a complete retro-fit solution front and rear. I'd probably go for Akebono setup now if I was looking to upgrade, I was very lucky with what I got.

The parts (pads and disks) is just as easy IMO. Absolutely no difficulty in getting good quality parts for the GTR setup.

Just sell me yours without the skyline tax, and upgrade lol.

Doesn't the Z33 need you to drill out the fixing holes or something? I just worry I'd balls that up

yes bore then out a couple mm (remember to get the original bolts for them).

A seemingly cheap sacrifice for a brake upgrade making it bolt on, however you will need new hubs if you wish to go back to stock or any stock bolt on upgrades/adaptors.

Just get the GTR kit, 100% bolt on! So easy! :)

But more expensive and less effective no?

How are they less effective!?

For R33 calipers mounting bolts are M12x1.5mm for R34 they are M14x1.25mm.

R32 GTR V-spec uses the same M12 x 1.5mm too IIRC.

Corrected to R32

You won't balls that up. You managed to dress yourself this morning right? We're talking about running a drill bit through a hole. The present hole will guide you straight. If your that worried buy 4 drill bits and go up in 0.5mm steps. With the savings you could pay someone else to fit the damn things and still becquids in.

Sorry, so its just drill out the hole on the hub? Ah, well that's a piece of cake :)

Yup the mounting bolts are thicker. The threaded portion is on the caliper. Join 350z-uk and speak to Zmalex I think his name is (he's a breaker) sort you out no doubt.

I'm already on there mate... Just never actually go on.

From what I understand, the rear is more difficult to do

Slick Pete advised me that the z32 rears will hold up fine with the 350z fronts. And as Stephen said there is a very marginal improvement with the gtr ones

Marginal? Where did I say that?

Wrong person quote sorry it was Stephen I am referring to
Some confusion going on here.

Don't think so :thumbup1:
