It's not the money mate just knowing I've been ****ed over and more just to have a working z which at moment I have an very few people that works on them that's why I've been tolerant.

Yep is it is

I know who it is, I don't know why anyone would get their car worked on by said 'garage', but that's besides the by; why did you take it there in the first place when you have Jimmer down the road from you, someone with an unblemished record?

I'd get trading standards involved, failing that, name and shame. What I wouldn't do is take it back there.

**edit, I see you're no longer in South Wales.

Yep so been in Wakefield for 8 years so location an issue but Bristol might be on the cards now will have to give him a shout in the future.

Yeah I would. Just do not take it back to the place that's ruined your car.

To use that much fuel means the injector seals are not seated and leaking passed, usually filling the sump with fuel !

............

Call straight away to inform them ,so took back again to find chip in ecu had dislodged,(according to mapping specialist)

red-flag-warning.jpg

Dislodged chip ! rubbish !! anything wrong there will bring the engine light on as a corrupt chip / map

.................

.

So did one journey last year to Coventry been back there since late November I think been that long ,so yet again had to have bottom end rebuild

Remember those leaking injector seat seals filling the sump with fuel !

....................

Had to pay for parts again got that done another nistune ecu, car went to be mapped one turbo shaft broke, so he put another one on he had there and that went to told me I had pay for another recon turbo so obviously there was an issue if the same one went but just wanted car back so paid

Most of this was WARRANTY work and should not of been charged for ??

Then mapping guy wants more money because he did three part mappings

Totally expected, may as well take you for more cash whilst they have you........jeez !!

Pièce de résistance .............. white leather oil hand prints all over even thought I gave seat covers ,crack in front bumper ,two of three pod gauges not working ,my stereo amp not working ,arm rest (painted) cracked and lump out of it ,contacted him today to basically two fingers not his problem gauges or amp not working bumper forgot to tell me hit it on trailer

Oh my !! words are hardly enough, trouble is Trading Standard have no teeth to really hurt these jokers and the jokers themselves are usually penniless hobo`s working out of their pants so court is a waste of time and money.

Feel for your pain but not a lot can be done as it is a "he said" , "she said" "they did this " situation, lesson`s learnt feller but move on, get it down to Jims in Bristol and get it done properly in one hit !

Took advice from a customer who is a solicitor a while ago he was amazed it has gone on this long he want to sort this is an option but ther more than I way to skin a cat !!

  • Author

It'll get there you know it's not the money it the attitude it's just a mess if I treated my customers like that I'd be signing on well got valeter coming sat and arranged to go to body shop an an auto electrician to sort out I'll get there

:eek: Feel for you pal, happened me with a garage over here in Ireland, the money I spent to have my engine fitted would've covered shipping it to Jimmer and him fixing it. Learnt the hard way and that's what I've done:yes:

Thing is put up with some thing because he was local and few people around to work on them but it gets to a point when it was a piss take at my expense.

....but 'the garage' or at least the chap who works in it has a pretty poor reputation and has done from day 1.

absolutely terrible to hear this,,its disgusting that someone has treated you like this especially since you were using them for so long would have though the garage would have valued you more as a customer and seen you right, as i have no idea who you are on about could you please tell me the location of this 'garage' (dont need to say names)just so i know what areas to avoid as i am looking to have an engine rebuild done soon cheers

There are at least two very repeutable Zed specialists frequently referred to on here mate.

Search over me thinks.

If you need a engine rebuild then you have a choice of Lee Dent or Jimmer they are the best.

Doncaster where the garage is

i feel your pain johnny knowing how well you look after your car, but i think after the first attempt to fix i would of played the warranty card, and not let it gone so far as it did. the z32 isn't as easy to work on as some garages think. my only choice for getting work done used to be jeft-tt but as he has now retired i goto Jimmer (that plus he is only 45mins from my house)

  • Author

Yep in hindsight this has gone on for a long time now ,warranty his idea is you pay for parts etc as for turbos he had no paperwork for them so no proof for turbo company to honour and all they say is oil starvation and they didn't do just wanted car back I had a month of road tax/mot last year just glad to get it back

Had a bad experience a few years ago with a midlands based "Japanese specialist" more of a chop shop really. It wasn't this same person btw. I as you did assumed I had not a lot to stand on but after a chat with citizens advice I was quite surprised. Once I got my shit together (a few years had passed) the garage agreed to a "goodwill guesture" which was paid. Basically we settled out of court and they never accepted fault but I was happy enough with the outcome.

Get your paper work in order, receipts, emails etc and send a letter explaining your complaint. That you've given fair chance for a repair to be made and that you seek compensation. Give them say 28 days to reply and offer a suitable solution to the issue for both parties. Do not mention legal action at this stage. If at that point a statisfactory solution has not been reached, then you can escalate to small claims court.

Good luck. I hate poor service. Everyone makes mistakes it's how that's dealt with that separates companies. Sounds like you've had a mountain of failures. Keep us up to date.
