So after speaking with a couple of garages today, its seems like they will only align the car to either the FSM details, or if I give specific data they will use this info.

I was hoping that they would offer some input or advice given that my car is lowered, but they only want to use set data, so does the fact that the car is lowered, negate the factory setup?

(Seen the thread below with the pages from AndrewG regarding the FSM specs.)

They can still set track, camber and caster angle to stock even when lowered, the wheels will be sitting as they would at stock height which is what you want.....unless you're wanting to dial in loads of camber.

I always have them do the alignment with factory figures.

Ok thanks Si.

I just wondering given the larger rolling radius, and wider overall track (especially the rear) that a custom/different approach would be required.

I take it your talking about a standard tyre/alignment place? It sounds like what your after is Chassis Tuning.

Mine is 35mm lowered and on wider rims, but always aligned to stock settings, it makes a huge difference in feel on the handling

Not really Stephen, I did have the car corner weighted etc years ago when I first out the Meister R's on it, but I feel it's a bit excessive given it's primarily a road car.

Thanks for the reply, good to know :cool3:

I will go with the stock settings

IMO you just need someone with a Hunter Hawkeye set up who is properly trained to use it. My settings are.....

Front 1.39 camber -ve.

9 deg of castor.

0.02 toe

Rear.

1.3 -ve camber

o.15 toe

Thanks Pete. I was going to a garage with a Hunter setup. Would your settings still be applicable given your car is SWB and mines an LWB?

i would think the settings will be OK for the "family estate"!!

I think my settings are just on the outer edge of stock??

I could really do with a touch more negative camber on the LH side as that one gets chunked on track.

Multi link suspension doesnt need much negative camber, especially on road cars.

Thanks for your experience Pete. They generally won't advise though, will they? Only set to what you ask. I need to get mine sorted again in the near future, especially the rear Castor. I was going to go with 1' all round, maybe slight less at the rear for off the line grip (road car ;))

All booked in for tomorrow lunchtime, looking forward to the drive home :cool3:

Not sure if it makes much difference, but I believe Nissan recommend that all fluids be at top levels.

Particularly the fuel tank, due to it's final weight being of some influence to set up.

Yes you are right. Just been out and filled up with Shells finest.

I am glad it's only 12 miles to the garage tomorrow as the rear is all over the place, when it comes to drive-ability:oops:

Great job done by the technician at Guildford Tyre Co. using their Hunter Hawkeye kit.

As you can see from the first reading once my car was setup, it had some interesting numbers!

After an 1hr everything was looking much better.

The drive home was a blast!

Sorry about the pictures (iPhone pah)

How have you found these settings in terms of driveability now that you have had them done for a while? I am needing to get this done in the next couple of weeks and it would be great to just hand these settings over if they work well!

Bazz, yes all good, no complaints since having this setup.

Many thanks to Pete again for passing on his setup details.

Thanks! I have taken a note of these and I see that the place Jaikai uses in Troon has the Hunter Hawkeye equipment. Will be getting it booked in as soon as the new wheels are built.
