Hello ladies & gentlemen.

I've loved the Z32's ever since i first played Gran Turismo - back in the day. I've always wanted one but the time has never been right.... until now!

I've just purchased a twin turbo, auto Z. 49k miles on the clock so she's very much still a baby.

I got her for a good price but she has a small issue, the engine cuts out when it reached running temperature; i'm sure it's just a sensor. (diagnosing it Sunday)

But anyway, here she is. I love her, plan to convert to manual in a few months. Also on the look out for leather interior!

Welcome to the Club Jay! I've attached the FSM pages for hot engine stall which may help diagnosing problem.

The check injectors and circuits (step 3) includes the PTU module on the left front of the engine cam cover. Early

PTUs have been known to fail when hot. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, and Andrew thank you very much for sending that; i'm sure it will be useful.

This is the wonderful thing about owners clubs :o

Hi and welcome Jay..... Nice looking Zed you have!!

As Andrew has mentioned, I'd wager the cutting out problem is down to a faulty PTU; it's a common fault and many of us have upgraded to the series 2 PTU. It was a recall in the USA, but not here, because the 300zx wasn't sold in sufficient quantities for it to be relevant..

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hi Jay and welcome to the club! Really nice looking car I always liked the gunmetal grey. I'm near Gloucester too and somebody told me they'd seen a grey car round here a couple of weeks back so I guess it must have been you. If you spot a black one that'll be me so give us a flash!

Cheers,

Chris

ah love the smell of gunmetal in the morning :tank:
