Thanks for that winnoze, but mine is a NA rear end and I seem to remember the hubs are different sizes... I think?

They are - the centre bore diameter of TT bearings are larger than that of the NA bearings.

Thanks Andrew.... Think I need to help as hard to hear which bearing.... sounds weird...

Check the diff fluid Russ, worth an inspection. Also worth speaking to like conceptu or someone as the NA R200 diff may share that part with other nissans, maybe a pattern part the NA bearing is certainly cheaper than TT in any event.

Used wheel bearings are a false economy.

Agreed.

Also Russ, have you stripped the rear brakes, including the handbrake assembly?

Not saying it's not the bearing, but may be worth eliminating any ancillary items first.

Thank Stephen and Andrew, I am going to check the diff, brakes, shafts, etc. Tomorrow. Been looking at a YouTube video on pinion gear noise and it is the same sound..... a bit like a rally car gearbox.....

But going to jack her up, get the rear suspension on stands so the drive shafts are level and check everything for movement in bearings.

I replaced the fluid last year Stephen....

It is hard to explain the noise...... But wasn't there before changing the transmission and Prop shaft..... so going to check the brakes and bearings first and then the prop shaft for play.....

Well...... I jacked her up with both rear wheels off the floor and checked N/S wheel first for movement and there's none.....

Then the O/S...... errrrrmmmm.... it is clonking up and down and front to back..... it's cream cracker'd......

So now to source a new NA rear bearing / Hub.......

Think you will find the deliberatly use different part numbers to apply the Zed and Skyline tax. I've brought one or two parts from other models for significantly cheaper. Sadly the only way to know is to try. Spose you could order and compare returning if wrong.

Hi Stephen, I have sent Mike a text asking for price and availability for OEM one...... I can get a CZP one for $65.50 made by Centric, but after the delivery and Import duty it's probably about the same price.

Only way I could do it would be to buy a few and then sell them on eBay to get my costs back...... and haven't got the money to outlay for that at the moment....

Well, I didn't get the bearing from main dealer as they refused to order it without me paying cash up front.....

I did manage to get hold of Mr Feeney and amazingly he had one he had sold and was returned due to a TT and NA mixup..... I was soooo lucky.......

I picked it up today, stripped the rear hub ready..... Tomorrow is borrow a press and swap the hubs........

Can someone please close this thread as I now have the part...... Thanks everyone for the help...
