  • And they have arrived !

  • After the oil got contaminated and slightly washed down with fuel the turbos also ceased up. I decided to strip them and do the rebuild myself as the costs for that at the moment to be done profe

  • Well that was a quick trip, planned to stay to Thursday but unfortunately had to come back earlier.   At least Jimmer now has all parts to start an engine build.   Hopefully we wil

Savage work going on here, I keep getting a feeling of deja vu  this one is going to be bigger and better that your last one:thumbup:

Lots of good things happening today.

First my paint has arrived from house of kolor in the USA.

Then I get notification that the remaining back order for my conceptz order has been dispatched.

You would never guess what colour it is?

How much did the raw paint cost you?

Moving onto the pistons i'm glad that I decided to crack on and strip it completely as I had a cracked piston ring on one.

And a few other cracked as I took them off, very fragile these are.

Just a cleanup job now which i'm not looking forward too.

Pistons are very good condition with just a few areas of carbon that can be cleaned up.

And looking into the block the cylinders are very clean indeed.

Good man, peace of mind taking it back to bare block :thumbup1: Assuming you can put it back together that is :scared: and work

This would be scary for most people but I've got a good engineering mindset so I found it very easy.

I've new gaskets, stem seals, bearings and piston rings on order.

Looking forward to rebuilding her but it's a bugger to clean.

My thoughts are to buy loads of white vinegar and steap the whole lot for a few days.

Try avoid cleaning the pistons too much apart from the ring grooves if your not lightly honing and buying new slugs..the carbon build up acts as a natural secondary seal and can help against a wheezing motor down the line;)

yes, they are all in order along with the lifters and will be going back where they came from. :)
