  • And they have arrived !

  • After the oil got contaminated and slightly washed down with fuel the turbos also ceased up. I decided to strip them and do the rebuild myself as the costs for that at the moment to be done profe

  • Well that was a quick trip, planned to stay to Thursday but unfortunately had to come back earlier.   At least Jimmer now has all parts to start an engine build.   Hopefully we wil

After a few hours and lots of pain I finally got the back end of the zed stripped.

Managed to disassemble the left side hub and knuckle without issue but I have a stuck bolt on the other with no way to get it off.

I have a large breaker bar but I don't have a vice or a way to keep the hub from moving as I try to turn the bolt.

Few hours on the zed today and started the suspension over-hall with the drivers side being partially done.

Removed old brakes and also the dust shield so that I can fit my KSport big brakes.

Lee,

you might wont to look at the K Sport instructions again, as I think that your disks are mounted incorrectly, as the "cooling" vanes in the disk should be round the other way.

Don't have instructions as I picked these up second hand, although they are in nearly new condition.

Are you talking about the inner parts of the disc ?

So just swap the left and right fronts and its sorted ?

No problem, I remember spending sometime looking at the instructions before fitting mine, as usual the translation of the instructions could be better.

What didn't help was that my brother has K Sports on his Legacy, which I had used as reference, turned out his were fitted incorrectly.

Done two jobs today on the Zed,

First took 20 minutes and that was to switch the front discs around as they were on the wrong way.

Second job took closer to two and a half hours; why is it the smallest of jobs are the worst ones to do?

All I had to do was swap out the front droplinks for new ones, but no one had to get stuck and I ended up

getting the grinder out and cutting the damn thing off.

Not a job I would like to do again.

Heading over the the working garage in an hour so have a few jobs to do on my list.

Thinking of fitting my spoiler, tailgate plexi / brake light, wing mirrors.

Also bought two new front steering rods to complete my new front setup.

Still awaiting the polybushes from Driftworks but royal mail has theme at the moment.

Not done as much as I wanted but at least some jobs got done.

First off was I fitted the new steering control arms.

Worked on the wheel alignment a bit to try fix the wonky steering angle I somehow managed to get.

Also got the door rubbers on followed by the wing mirrors.

I wouldnt say it very tight, its nice fitting but its made of a stretchy material so likely can go further.

I dont have the glass fitted yet so it dips in at places and sags.

This is an interior cover only and isnt water proof, its just for keeping the dust off.

Is it a tight fit or plenty left over for a LWB?
