Hi folks.. I've been looking in to a weekend event for next year.

It's a driving event with an overnight camp and would like to get an idea of numbers interested.

My idea is for everyone to meet up at a location along the M6 and convoy from there to snowdonia national park which I know has some excellent driving roads and views/photo opportunities etc.

There is a camping site at the park for tent stays and also available cabins for those who don't do the roughing it.

After an overnight stay at snowdonia, driving through the valley and through the breacons and the black mountain pass where we gather again for some food etc and then make our separate ways home.

Can you give me your opinion/input please. I think it'll be a great driving event.

I'm still trying to barter with Drayton Manor to see if they can get the costs down to club funds scope, but they seem adamant on keeping it in the thousands rather than hundreds!

Alright alright, I was tired and not paying attention. Consider ones wrist slapped for stupidity

can you check if the site accommodates camper vans, might bring mine if it does, although I'll also have to bring the wife as I can't drive both.

Luxury hotel, with private jacuzzi, sauna and masseuse, failing that, a cabin I guess.....

I'll be taking a hotel with me.. After the demise of my 8 man mini hotel at this year's jae, I went out and bought this

So your request for a hotel room can be fulfilled Chris, however the jacuzzi, sauna and masseuse might not be possible..

I'll be getting on to the campsite on Friday

I'm thinking the dates could be either June or August? With the agm in between but suggestions for suitable months are welcome as I'd rather set the dates around the people who wish to attend.. Do what do you think is the best time to do it?

I'm going to find out how many cabins are available and obviously the cost involved. If post up info as soon as I get the correct information.

just a suggestion, given the amount of interest in not camping, (I don't know the area at all) but is there any premier inn type places? thought thoses of us that stayed in the premier inn during the agm had a laugh still... also means not loading the cars up with camping equipment etc,

Oap passes at the ready!

Thanks for the suggestion phoenix, it's something I have thought about and am looking in to. Just think it's one night and it'd be nice to all be in the same area so we can have a Barby at camp..

I'm looking to give as much comfort choice as possible for everyone.

Location?????

Snowdonia national park

according to Wilipedia there are 820 odd square miles in the park.

I was wondering whereabouts in that vast area your proposed overnight stay was with a view to joing in on one or maybe two days.

Looking at an earlier post it appeared you had a place in mind...

However ... given the brevity of your answer Ill pass on the idea.

Thanks.

Not quite sure how to take that answer Pete.. At present this is just in "idea" stages.. I'm making enquiries this week as to pinpoint locations of actual sites but have been made aware of camping facilities with cabins available.

The "brevity" of my answer is due to this being in early stages of planning.. You asked for a location, the area is snowdonia national park. Actual camp location will depend on the numbers of attendees.

OK, given the interest at the moment I'm going to get a provisional quote for 25. I will find out the amount if cabins available and thehotels available nearby or on route.

I will hopefully have some more information by tomorrow evening.

Great to see so many up for the event at this early stage, thanks for the support guys

forgot to register my interest previously. non camping alternative please ;-)

might be cheaper and easier to make sure it doesnt clash with any school holiday dates, so that puts August out.

depending on the location, it might be a viable AGM location if there are enough attendees, but nice thought about possibly going for June to avoid a clash.
