The moment when the guy in charge of the award categories has to decide whether to include the old "furthest travelled" award, knowing he would probably win it [emoji1]

Why was there no furthest traveled award lol. By the way JP I accidentally hit the wtf button

Had a fantastic day.Met some great people seen some awesome cars.Loved every minute..A massive Thank you for all that organised and lets keep the great zed spirit flying Thankyou to all..Lee

Could I suggest expanding the award categories next year? It would be great to recognise lots of other people that deserve appreciation. Some suggestions:

- greatest club contributor

- best restoration

- in true Top Gear style... the Golden Cock award

What a great thread.

I had a great day. I've met most of you before but good to meet a couple of you who've I've spoken to a lot and not actually met face to face. I thought I got round most people but sadly I don't think I spoke to Art, dutchgold or Redwine... Really sorry!

Anyway, great day and great weather. Some of the cars there were real credit to the owners. I'm pleased the northeast managed to turn out 6 cars too as we've been a little dead on the ground more recently.

Well, 6 cars between us and Yorkshire!

I had an enjoyable convoy home with Bird, Paul and Johnny too (we lost the other two somewhere somehow!) and seeing and hearing Johnny's Vert is making me want one more and more.....

The awards at Coventry only relate to the cars/members present and the votes were cast only by members present based on what they saw and liked on the day. You could vote only knowing the reg number. They are not overall 300ZX co uk national awards

There were six awards spread over the 30 cars(28??) present. More than enough IMO

Quite right. We are classed as the northeast and Yorkshire.

We lost the other 2? You lost everyone apart from Paul in the way you went into the services. I then drove at 50 waiting for ya's to catch up. Only found johnyboy because he stopped at a later petrol station, that was just by chance lol

I would also like to see some more imaginative awards, so the best transition/restoration would be a good idea imo.

Also a power build or performance car. I know there was an award for modified car (mostly styling), but there should be one for the brute that people think is the most interesting performance build, not necessarily whp number either.

I really enjoyed yesterday. Plenty of stunning zeds on display, sorry I missed the agm but I went off for a few hours to visit family. From being at JAE last year to this I really do think zed only meets are the way forward, obviously the weather helped a lot. Convoys there & back were good too, apart from being followed by a weird looking bloke in a Vauxhall Zafira  Hope you got some good pictures Lee!

Yes, it was a fantastic day. Thanks for all your hard work in the committee!

Awesome drive to the museum in the morning, great meal and drinks in the hotel on Saturday too..

The sight of so many Z's in all their forms was fantastic amd each and every one of you guys have my respect for your continued hard work preserving your cars and keeping the Z32 alive and kicking..

Thanks to each and every one that voted my nostrils as best engine bay 2016, it was a great feeling to receive that award after the work that went in to it. Really made my year that! So thank you all.

Great to finally meet you Gaz and your son, you were the true gent I expected you to be and your car was as expected too, a true example of a great 300.

Congrats to Joely, mondo, mantav8 and Ian greenfield for your well deserved awards too

Great agm meeting aswell with some valid points raised and interesting discussions.

Look forward to seeing the club's future get brighter and more fun for every member..

If anyone has details for the beullie, can you forward them to me please as if I can attend, I will..

Oh no, we didnt vote for the nostrils, whether or not its anyones cup of tea, you could see the time and hard work it took to put it together, and there was no other engine bay like it. Yes shiny engine bays can look nice but every second engine is covered with chrome and they get boring.

Definitely interesting talking about the meets. I've been trying my best to set up some SE meets with some success and some non attendees a couple of times now. There are numbers down here, and its not necessarily that they're not busy, its sometimes they forget or miss the post completely. Other than our little SE meet from time to time, the only other regular thing i've seen is the preston supercar meet. Do people not fancy a Z chat in other areas or is it lack of organization?

Not trying to point fingers, but REOs have really been letting the regions down IMO. I believe the SE REO is Terry (maybe i'm wrong, then who is?), but I haven't seen any organisation of whether it just be a coffee or a local meet they spotted going on, and same goes for every reigon. Of course some regions may not get a turnout at all but its all the club community to make an effort to make it more enjoyable for everyone.

I couldn't really comment on what people like to do at events, but Sunday was great and I didn't really expect anything more to do, I honestly couldn't be bothered that it was at a museum and it wasn't really a family event so my family didnt attend.

Here's my proposal; This will not solve people not wanting to go to meets, but giving people the best oppotunity to know about it and clear the diary would be idea. I think the front page should have a calendar/list of upcoming events that REOs could post (or anyone, and be approved by moderators) so even if epople go on here once a month can see what is coming up, and for people to see events in the future and clear the diary's.

All the info for Beaulieu is here, all six pages;

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?184419-Simply-japanese-2016!!!&highlight=Simply+Japanese

Post above mine, I tagged you in the quote so Paul could get the info from you.

And a big thank you to all our members for turning out - and making this event the success it was. We could not have done any of it without your support..... It was indeed a great day and on behalf of the committee, thank you....

Great job guys, had a great weekend and we had the weather,

And how good was it..... Hell, that was the one thing none of could have organised or planned any better.....!!!

I guess I was the only person who didn't get burnt! I'm the colour of turd now though!

Nope - I didn't either.... And I'm probably a similar colour; or am I just another turd.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

How we structure meets could be reviewed and it's something I've suggested before. Next meet on the banner for example. Implementing this though is a different matter. The trouble is as we all know virtually every meet you sort out falls on its face. Beaulieu is incredibly successful each year but mini meets not so much. Hopefully Howard's box hill run will be a success too. Two South central meets in cession months.

Ah yeah I see it now. Anything like that don't hesitate to PM me, suggestions and events etc. I miss posts like that quite often. I'm busy guy.

Thanks everyone, I really enjoyed it today. It was great to meet a few more people too:)

Indeed Dave....

It's always nice catching up with the old faces, but it was great to meet some new ones too..... Mondo, Alic (and father), Gray (and Julie), Lee Dent, Paul (Nemesiszx) - to name but a few - it was a pleasure to meet you for the first time!!

LOL - we'd love to do that........ But in these PC times in which we live and all that....

yes...like everyone said great weekend great people and great cars, all you guys deserve a medal, theses cars are testing..lol

Big thanks to the committee for what they do and the time they give..well done guys,I still have sun stroke,I've had eight cold showers to day!! And to top of a great weekend my 7 year old grandson was pushed of a wall when we arrived home and broke his arm..ouch,so spent most of Sunday night at the hospital:crying:but that aside great weekend:)

Alic I think the idea of an events calendar on the home page is a great one.. Not sure how easy or hard it would be to do, but I'm sure Gaz or Craig could look in to it..

It would make life easy to find out what's going on and when..

What do you think Gaz?

Nice idea there Alic, that will be a useful tool to remind regular users and guide infrequent users of upcoming events that may be of interest to them. I do recall talking to club members at the last meet in Maldon about the Coventry meet and they had no idea what I was talking about! Anyone in this club should be aware of our main events and I agree it should somehow be rammed in our faces. JaiKai is the web administrator type guy who can answer exactly what can and cannot be done with these proposals.

I do confess however that I would very rarely see that page, I just logged in to prove my point and I have 332 notifications on the forum as I haven't "logged in" for a while! Tapatalk doesn't interface with those parts of vbulletin.

Likewise Richard.. Gonna have to try organise a run out in your direction soon.. Maybe me and bedzee and a couple of others can have a mini meet up your way? All get together for a Sunday afternoon or something?
