300zx tt wont stay running, ECU reading code 55, battery light and check engine light

i was driving on the parkway for 1.5 hours and my car wanted to die and wouldnt let me accelerate, i down shifted twice to keep it running but then died as i hit the gas pedal and it felt like wouldn't recieve fuel. i started the car back up again but shut right off, it wont stay idling. my battery light came on and check engine light came on. i figured my alternator was bad but now i feel like its the fuel pump. i honestly dont know what to do. i can get the car to start but it barely idles and when i hit the gas pedal it shuts off. also my ECU keeps reading Code 55, please help me

first suspect is a disconnected/ripped hose somewhere...check the larger hoses to and from the intercoolers/throttlebodies first.

Do you have blowoff valves on your car? if so, check those as well...maybe one is stuck open

Check the connectors from the ptu to the cas unit, they tend to corrode due to the ingress of moisture. Contact cleaner stiff brush will clean them up.

It's a good point. Is it even running on all cylinders?

no cylinder misfire i believe, i brought my alternator to autozone and they said it was garbage. i just installed a new one and the car wont stay running and the battery light and check engine light are still on. its almost like its not getting fuel but i dont know why those lights would be on

If the battery light is staying on, you need to investigate that issue before moving on.

Is the belt in good condition, correctly tensioned and not slipping?

What voltage do you read at the battery with the engine running?

Is the alternator wiring correctly installed and seated fully?

I am no expert but my zed had the battery light on and engine management light and i fixed it my replacing the Engine Cont fuse , located in the engine bay next to battery
