I think mine has failed, Is it possible to replace the Switch without removing the box, and if so how.

And if it has packed up , where best to get a replacement from ??

Yes you can change it in situee. The body has a funny divet that gives enough room for a spanner. You can use the switch from a pathfinder, Navara or xtrail can't remember which, these are available as repro parts pretty cheaply. Compare the images on a Google search. You can test it really easy once it's out by pushing the switch and performing continuity. You can do this in place obviously but you would need a helper to pop it into and out of reverse, or jump in out, in out. Probably take you longer getting to it than replacing it.
