Not driven the zed for a while so last week I took it out to give it a run and noticed I had no boost. The boost gauge needle would get to 0 but not go any further. I have checked the boost pipes I can see and thought I heard a bit of a hiss from the pipe off the back of the balance bar. Took it off and saw it had a cut where the clamp had cut into the rubber. I have put a load of insulating tape around it to see if it makes a difference but no joy.

Am I missing something else?

I think your first point of call is, is the data you have correct. Does the car feel very low on power. If it feels normal but has a low reading, then it's likely an issue with the gauge, be that feed or mechanical failure.

Under what circumstances are you getting that information. You won't make boost at idle, you need load.

You need to check over all of your intake tract. Preferably by performing a boost leak test, however a leak this bad should be very obvious.

The final option is that you have a seized turbo. This would be shit. Removing some intake piping and seeing if it blows out the top may work. Or simply observing and feeling the impelor.

Start with the simple stuff and work to towards the worst case scenario. Hopefully it's something silly.

It is not going beyond 0 when I drive it under load It is fine but does not give any acceleration you normally get when the turbos kick in.

My fear is that as it has been standing for a bit, a turbo has seized but wouldn't you get some boost from the one turbo?

im afraid its not good news,as the turbos pressure is equalised in the plenum by the balance bar you have one turbo trying to feed 6 cylinders hence the 0 reading,And the fact its been standing points to a seized turbo even more so.To ascertain which one cable tie a rubber glove on the outlet pipe from each turbo and start the car and rev it slightly. If it balloons its boosting and if not its seized.

Can't believe it's been 6 months but I have been doing some investigation on and off over that time. I have been using the car occasionally and I am not getting any smoke, so take that as a good sign...

Anyway found the pipe to the boost regulator (?? in the corner of the engine you by the fuse box and brake master cylinder) was split so replaced that. The pipes from the centre of the balance bar to the IAT and ACC didn't fit well, so I have replaced those. All now sounds better but still no boost.

So last weekend I decided to try the test Jimmer suggested. Took the air intake hose off the drivers side and, started car. It ran but no movement in the glove. Put that hose back and did the same to the passenger side and the car would not start.

I am assuming therefore that a pipe has come off on the drivers side, and this is the problem. Does that make sense ?

I had a look around the underside and from but couldn't see much. Anyone got a disgrace of where the pipe work goes from the turbo to engine?
