Anyone noticed the poor quality of used parts for the 300 on places like Flee-bay and Facebook ? cannot believe what I am seeing of late, corroded and rusty suspension parts, worn out and clearly very old dump valves, injectors look only fit for the bin!! and worse of all brake components that look like they have been on the Paris to Dakar Rally !!

I would be horrified to receive such bad condition parts for a loved zed, I can understand that parts such as this may be coming harder to come by but that is no reason to hike the price`s and sell bin fodder as usable parts.

I know when I started selling zed parts they were so much younger ( near 20 yrs younger ) and breaker`s in those days were actually better than many zeds been worked on as projects now, think I bought most of my breakers as full running cars with mot and tax such was the demand for parts then and that made it so much easier to supply good quality but jeez looking on Facebook in particular there are some parts sales on there which are just junk and the sellers write an easy about rarity and cost when new etc... yes but the parts you are selling are 20 yrs old now!!

Oh well sorry for the rant but just be careful, don`t get ripped off for sub standard parts and do not fall into the trap of thinking your double decade parts are going to get you a summer holiday abroad, in fact in the spirit of the club / marque let`s keep it real!

PS dump vales for sale: rare as hens teeth cost a million yen when new, leak on high boost but sounds just like a Subaru impreza ...cool £350 each

Dump valves should all be consigned to the dumpster anyway! Hateful things! Less and less are finding their way onto Z32s now thankfully.

Yeah, there's not much decent stuff out there, you've really got to hunt and search for bits that you like. I buy a lot of OEM parts brand new however, but getting stuff like glass, good plastics and various others odds and sods has become frightfully difficult.

Jeff, I know………. there is a lot of garbage out there now. All those times when i the parts were flying around for a good price. I would thing……..ner, i will get them another time. Now look!!!

One thing I have noticed is lots of OEM Z32 brake setups being advertised for between £200 and £300... sometimes just for one axles' worth!

I know that the S13 gang like to use our brakes as an upgrade for their own, but some of these calipers and discs on sale look absolutely shocking...

Yup, when I fitted my Brembos, I sold my complete brake setup on ebay for nearly £200!

Yes but dont forget Jeff its stripped for inspection:rofl::rofl:..That old chestnut

Half the breaker don't even get back to you either. We don't seem to have much trade of parts through the forum these days either.

Changing times for the marque and owners.

I can't find it now but someone's selling some horrific trims. There's an electric seat switch trim and it looks like it's been kicked round a car park!

Yeh agree Baz, seen plenty of trim stuff that looks set for the bin and some chancer`s will try and sell this stuff!!

What a complete joke!

That supercarparts quite often has a photo of a really decent part like a mint drivers window switch but has his sneaky disclaimer at the bottom: Photo may not be of exact item.....

Yeah, that's AndyZ, he used to be a trader on here about 10 years ago and did used to have nice breakers in, but the market is left with tat. I remember reading that too, that part will never sell! lol

Sadly cars being scrapped these days are usually totally whacked out either by poor maintenance, shite driving or very badly damaged, the latter once again because its been in the wrong hands during recent years. Having witnessed loads of breakers that have been delivered to Jimmer over the last year or so, the amount of parts re-usable are very few. This hopefully put extra value on the parts being sold via the club and hopefully with provenence. New parts if available are still best but if its a daily driver and the car is off the road, used parts may be your quickest option. I blame Jeff for retiring as he was always a great source of quality bits and at great prices.

one of the reasons i got rid of mine way back then when i did was purely because people wanted fortunes for tt auto boxes and at the rate i went through them it was a no brainer i dread to think what they go for now

here is another example,

My bloody Waterpump failed, bought from Ebay, cost about 30 Quid, bstard thing leaked most of my engines water in a quarter of a mile, temp gauge shot up to 3/4 in the period of about 10 seconds, luckily I caught it quick sharp and pulled up.

Lesson now learned, OEM stuff on order from Z centre, along with a new cambelt and thermostat and stubby pipes, Sodding thing.

Sadly even OEM parts can fail prematurely. I know of a new Nissan one obtained from Z1 that failed on start up..........their response was to wash their hands of it and point the person to Nissan UK who were not interested either. He ended up buying another l believe from MJP.
