so turns out the running rich was due to a faulty 2nd maf the one that was on the car was fine the 2nd one i got few months ago was not working i ran it on the car on its own and it over fueled fitted the original one back on and it was fine again i have a other maff now so will fit duel maff set up back on with the replacement maff and hope it should be ok this time

Did the Selin status led show that the MAF was faulty? It is a feature of the MK2 versions.

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

i did not notice as the panel was covering it the AFR gauge it was showed me what the problem was am on one maff at the mo till i get another working maff then can test it again the car feels really rapid as it is be interesting to see how the duel maff changes things

the breathing mods so far with the uprated turbo gt500s goes well. so with the duel maffs and bigger throttle bodies thats all the big breath mods done as far as bolt ons

so 2nd time round got the duel maffs working now in add mode sounds great thats for sure and fueling fine both mafs working the car needs mapping now and the bigger injectors fitting

yes when you let off you hear the turbo, recirc valve and some chatter i will post another vid in the next few days am running on the dyno friday just a test run no mapping just to see how its fueling over the rev band my afr gauges say it fine even at full boost but all the readinging ive done it should be maxing out the injectors its only got a chipped ecu that you use when you go to 14 psi on stock turbos but its running my set up ok but i will fit the larger injectors and remap soon

just point out anyone reading this thread or anyone making a fast car of all the work i have done the the big brakes front and rear are a 100% must the way the car get down the road now on stock brakes it would be a death trap and before anyone tells me the stock brakes are fine come drive my car with the way it goes and brakes and you will see what am talking about

That's wise words Grasshopper, "To go fast, first one must be able to slow down":chinese::biggrin:

I just so happen to have two sets of big brakes for sale:innocent::whistling:

Awesome build Dan, with plenty of attention to detail:thumbup1:

ive done me best and hope people have found it interesting and helpful i will keep it going with the tuning and some vids of the car going

went out tonight for a 2nd go with the duel maff with out it i was running 10 afr at wide open throttle and after fitting it it went to about 11 afr at wide open throttle the extra power ffrom that little change in afr and duel filters was great felt even scary fast its the fasted z i have been in so far by a long shot

it was dark i have a gopro now so i will use that

dyno run today no mapping stock injectors were on 97% duty so were maxed out at 15 psi the AFR was ok mind the car made 403 bhp and 429lbft at the crank stock the car at the crank is what 280 as was a auto with manual box were fitting the bigger injectors and fitting a stand alone ecu next week with map sensor so no more maffs needed and them remap

Edited by dan300zx

yes i have the injectors here to go in with a link standalone engine magagment doing away with the old nissan ecu

Good stuff, sounds like the fuel was your limiting factor because there's more head room in your current spec.

yes for sure we will some see when its mapped with the new ecu. also has traction and lunch built in and of coarse will be using map not maf sensors now

Where can I buy a built in lunch for my car?:pinch:

race logic is the one i have here a brand new one in the box but now am using a stand alone with built in traction but am keeping the race logic incase i get another car as you dont see them for sale very often

just a little vids of the end of the run on the dyno and a walk round at the end. am new to gopro so am just messing about with it to learn it so vids wont be great at first am at total novice
