I need to relocate my expansion tank as my left wheel is rubbing it when turning right, and yes I've just had the alignment done and it's all good. And no I don't want to remove it! :tt2:

I know A fair few people have done it, any tips on what tank to get? What size? Where do people put them? I like the idea of next to the battery like the AMS one as that would make it easily accessible, but was wondering if anyone knows a tank that'll fit there well? Aside from the AMS one that is :wack: Otherwise it might be a bit of trial and error which I'd rather avoid, I've barely driven it for ages now and just want to get it sorted quickly!

Why not get the ams one? It's on offer!

Thought postage would be a lot, it would take a while to arrive and not sure it would fit with a normal sized battery (whatever that means) so if someone knew of one for £20 or whatever then I'd go for it

So the AMS one didn't fit properly with that size battery?

This is what I have.....http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/sum-g1472/overview/

I got mine from a forum member a few years back..... does the job well....

Thanks, that's another one to order from America though

I had considered digging out the heat gun and just moulding the old one a bit, its not like you can see it or anything, just not sure I could bring myself to do that much of a bodge!

They've come back with $28 for shipping so I might go with it actually as it should be a neat solution, though still not sure if it will fit next to my Bosch 068. Anyone know if that is the stock size or smaller?

I actually just ordered one last week, I'm moving mine to under the nose panel to free up some airflow through the ic. Not worked out its exact position yet though.

I asked AMS what size battery it would fit next to and they said OEM. So I asked them what size the OEM battery is and they had no idea!

They put me in touch with a customer of theirs and he said you need smaller than OEM, his battery is 216mm wide and a snug fit so my 260mm battery doesn't stand a chance.

The stock battery is approximately: L260mm W175mm H222mm.

Really? Hmm well this is confusing then. He did say I might be able to get enough room if I removed the plastic tray so I could move the battery over enough, but his looked pretty tight as it is. Will see if I might be able to gain enough room, but then I'm not sure what that would do to getting the battery in and out

Daft question (maybe) from me - but why would the wheel be rubbing against it.....?

How far have you lowered the car mate....?

Well I'm pretty confused by it myself tbh. Its on tein springs so its not that low, can't remember exactly but its higher than a lot of other peoples (that may actually be the problem I suppose). 245/40/18 tyre on a 8.5" wheel with a +20 offset so pretty normal there. Alignment has the castor set closer to the front of the wheel arch than stock (7° vs 9° I think), but it has to be or it hits the rear of the arch. They're centered as it is.

Previous owner said it had upgraded smic's, don't know if that's true or what is fitted but I can only think the tank was moved slightly to accommodate them.
