Out of all the tyres I've run on my Z, Pirelli P-Zero are without doubt, the very best I've experienced. The level of grip is just fantastic. So impressed with Pirelli P-Zeros that I've fitted them to my daily hack too.

They're not cheap AT ALL, but they're excellent! Wear rate is 'ok', but that's not why I fitted them, I wanted exceptional grip and that's what I've got. :)

I got mine from Protyre... They were cheaper than Black Circles. There's one in Liverpool for u aswell.

I ended up getting Continental Sport Contact 5.... Brilliant tyre so far!

Tyreleader was the cheapest by far when I bought my Michelin pilots sports ps2 Delivered within 2 day's from France!

The pirelli's are about £140 each for the rears. Continental sport contact 3 any good? I can get them for a good price for the front 2.

I've Bridgestone s001 on mine, would recommend them for grip, although they are wearing fairly quickly, ( of course that could be my driving style)

Conti have gone down hill recently, I'd avoid them.

Can't really recommend a supplier though, as I get all mine at trade lol.

Does it matter if the load index is higher than the current tyres?

Really mate? They are still finishing in the top three of pretty much all the motoring press's tyre tests...!! I have not tried the Conti Sport Contact 6 yet, but can highly recommend the CSC 5. They are OEM fitting on my SLK350 and are doing a pretty good job on the Zed too....

Pirellis are supposedly back to form - but the top three in pretty much all comparisons seems to be (in no particular order) Conti / Goodyear / Michelin. All of the premium brands will be more than up to the job, in all honesty - just avoid the cheapo nasty tyres. Don't forget those 4 little patches of rubber are all that holds you to the road - in all conditions - at all speeds. Don't scrimp on tyres as one day your life might depend on it!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks Rich, I know mate gona have my little boy in the car next year so want good tyres on.

I always stick to premium tyres and I would rather buy part worn premium than brand new budget.

I have in the past searched 7mm (what ever brand and size) on eBay and been really happy with the results.

However here is a top tip.

Garages get an over rider discount based on the number of tyres they order (more they order cheaper they get)

If you are friendly with an independent garage they will usually match the cheapest price online or not as it counts towards the discount.

So even though they make little or no money on them it helps them out.

The case of wine I buy them at Christmas normally saves me several hundreds through the year.

Well from what I've seen, and the fact there's an "unofficial" recall on certain sizes, fitted to certain Nissan's, due to poor/uneven tyre wear, sorry no details could get in trouble.

They are getting changed to Michelin.

There an OK tyre, but not for performance cars, just my opinion.

Just saying there's a reason Conti are on jukes etc, but the nismos, and zeds are not.

i generally use http://www.camskill.co.uk when ordering car tyres, as they always seem to have the best prices and stock availability, and deliver promptly.

But i used national tyres http://www.national.co.uk in an emergency when i was up in scotland, and they were also very very well priced. you also get them cheaper if you order online for fitting at a branch, rather than ordering directly in the branch (some company management initiative..lol). The branch manager told me that, so i ordered online while i was in the reception.

I recently used http://www.openeo.co.uk for the first time after being recommended, to get 2 sets of bike tyres, and also found excellent prices and delivery was good too.

i notice they supply car tyres as well, but have not used them for that.

using camskill and openeo means you will have to pay to get the tyres fitted elsewhere, which is fine if you have someone that will do that for you. not all tyre places like fitting tyres they havent supplied.

That's a good idea mate I'll have a look for part worn premium tyres.

Use the tyre sites & see if local services have the tyres required!

Ask local service their price ?

If higher, then tell them u have a better offer!

They will do a price match most of the time! If not go ahead with ur tyre site!

Simple!

I've just bought a matching pair of part-worn 245/35 R18 DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX with 6mm of thread for £100 (€134). That's the fronts sorted for the time being:thumbup:

You certainly did well there:thumbup1:

Got 2 fronts as well but they are part worn with 6mm tread, still a good price at £100. Taking the car over when she's back on the road in March for free fitting.

On the subject of tyres would you say that these tyres should be replaced?

I have them on used wheels got and was weary if they are too worn on the inside to be legal. they are not worn down to the depth marking, but have mostly worn off the tread on one side.
