Having no where to store a zed in winter is crap, we all know that. The last two winters mines gone into hibernation. I think I can honestly say it's received more weather related damage than being used. So in honour of the new tax law, allowing the payment to be monthly, making life easier and the extensive anti rust program I went through last winter, I've decided to just keep driving it, unless it's salty/raining. So I thought I'd start a new thread on the back of the colour threads. It's for the winter warriors, we see the garage queens posted up now I want to see the daily driven zeds, the dirty, used ones. So although mine isn't the aim of thread, you can't start without a picture.

Weekend toy, fresh from an early winter drive today. Dodging the euro boxes, pick ups and tractors of Dorsets A and B roads. Washed off ready to sleep for the week again...

I'm in the same boat. Not entirely by choice, but I'm sure most would say the same.

Thankfully, this winter has been very mild so far, so we haven't had any salt or grit. I'll try to spray the underside at the local carwash once a week anyway. She was out for a hoon this morning with the roads slightly flooded in parts.

Can I just say Steve, your Z looks sooooooooooooooo much better with the red bonnet and smooth nose panel!

Time for some new fog lights though!

Wasn't intentional but with the sale of the 370z, Mines playing daily drive, not the end of the world, I guess as its going to the bodyshop in the new year, any damages can be fixed,

Picture was taken Monday, stopped for some food at Cobham, was a VW meet on, found loads of photos of the zed stealing the limelight, lol

No comments on the parking, they were all diagonal so I joined in.

Took mine out yesterday & jet washed it! Also underneath!!

Might be an idea to jet wash your windows next time

I agree Si. The black bonnet created a weird notch like effect, made her look very arse heavy. The fogs, I dunno why but they do look dark and tired in pictures. They arn't. I think maybe it's contrast with the crystal indicators. Maybe some late spec indicator/corner lights would balance it up better. It's the wheels that bother me most often, as you know. Then after a good clean they look 100xs better. I'd switch to 350 Rays but I need more rubber not less. Another story though really.

Yup. Need some 10/15s up back now.

I had on under cover for the lotus the boxster of my bikes at one point you need a top of the range car cover not a shite ebay one for £30 like the ones that cost £150 to £250 best thing I ever did just removed it once a week had no problem no paint damage and was always dry.

It's not just the cover tbh mate, silly things like if I leave it for a few months the reversing beeper just jams on, or it will fire up on four/five cylinders. The car just seems happier to be used more frequently, get warm and move about.

I too have nowhere to store my Zed over the winter months so I've been taking it to work on Fridays as an end of week treat! Stopped on my way home this week and took this...

Those 350 wheels are quite a popular choice these days arn't they, not bad looking either.

Mine sits out all winter.

Its on the road tonite... which totally invalidates the insurance.

I have used it a couple of times this week as the Vectra was being repaired. But its not very nice to drive.

The paintwork is about trashed now:thumbdown: so I need to do something about that in the springDSCF5645.jpg

Proper little trooper though ain't she Pete. Maybe springs paint correction might include a detangoed roof

dam guys buy some good covers

Mines being painted next year Dan so not that worried. I'll get a car port on the side of the house next summer so it won't be as bad next year.

Paint is actually waterproof.:thumbup1:

if only it worked that way lol

Yeah, it's not quite as good as it could be, however the situation before, that you had to buy six months in one go( I know you can claim it back but it's a faff) left you bringing your car out early for spring then regrudgingly putting it away early as paying out six months for that extra month or so, was just a pita. Whilst it's actually more expensive monthly, it's just easier to swallow and you could in theory tax the car 9 months only with ease.

Well I have been thinking about it ......

BUT..................

Its still good its the lacquer on the metallic black that has deteriorated . Probably my fault during spraying???

No one would recognise it if it was all black.

It still annoys people.

All reasons to keep it orange:tt2:

if only it worked that way lol

It does work that way.

90% of all the cars in the UK live outside permanently.

Pete, after seeing it at 3 sisters earlier this year, I think you should keep the tango roof... After all it is a track car and I think the colour looks quite good on the track:)
