Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details

Hello All,

Some of you may be shocked at the title because yes Japfest has changed its venue from the Old faithful (Castle Combe) to the new shiny Silverstone.

Japfest-2016-location.jpg

Quite a few things have changed this year with the booking process, so please read the below instructions carefully. What will be staying the same is that we have a combined stand with the 350Z/370Z club and Z Club, so it should be a good turn out for the Z's.

New Self Service Booking System

Japfest have changed the way club bookings work this year, meaning that individual club members can book their own tickets and vehicle passes for the clubs stand. Please follow the following instructions for a successful transaction:

  • Club members must go to http://japfest.co.uk/club-info to book their tickets
  • Select your Club (Z Club) from the menu and enter the Club's Personal Password - 215.408
  • Proceed to select required tickets and place order - Make sure you choose 'Club Vehicle pass' to get on the club stand.
  • Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email as proof of payment

Club space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The deadline to book club tickets is Friday 18th March, subject to space availability.

If you have any difficulties, our club support helpline is available on 01959 543 724 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please call this number and do not PM me as I have no access this year.

Club Ticket Prices for 2016 Per Person

  • Club Early Bird Package £48 - includes show entry at Japfest and show entry and pre-show camping at Japfest Rock! (previously Japfest 2) and Japfest Motorsport Heroes.
  • Club Weekend Camping Ticket £28 - includes show entry and pre-show camping.
  • Club Advanced Show Ticket £18 - includes show entry.
  • We're also offering Early Bird Tracktime exclusively to clubs on the famous Silverstone National Circuit at just £30 per 20 minute session, saving £5 when booked before 31st January

When updating the list please put your username, ticket type wanted and when you have purchased. This lets us know how many we have attending.

Yea, I've got camping pass and was under the impression it would be like jae.. Camp near our stand. I haven't seen the set up but I'm hoping we're not miles from our cars..

Hot off the press regarding tickets for the event.

"They are ‘e tickets’ and they will be emailed to you by the end of the week, together with vehicle passes, a site map showing where your club will be located and other general information. Once you’ve received them you will need to print them off."

So that hasnt happened as its the end of the eek. Nothing in my Email in box except a reminder to buy tickets as Japfest is next weekend. Ironic.

Looks like chaos and lack of organization at Kelsey Publishing. (Event organizers)

No criticism at all of Adam/370Ad. He has just posted what he was told.

looking at the website the camping seems to be at a golf course

Yep it is. Looks like some fair distance by road. There are pathways from the site to the circuit

Campsite Address:

Whittlebury Park Golf and Country Club, Towcester, East Midlands, England, NN12 8XW

Edited by Slick Pete.

I've still had nothing from japfest either.. Not even a reminder about the event?

Also regarding the camping, I checked their website at Silverstone and it says they have camping at woodlands campsite which is 150 yards from the track?? I don't have a clue what's going on now and I've only got a few days to plan this out..

Someone needs to pull their finger out!

The Japfest Organizers are using the campsite I listed ...not Woodlands.

Car access is off the A 413 through Whittlebury village.

To get a car from the campsite to Silverstone circuit is about a 4 mile drive.. according to Google maps.

I already have my tickets guys! printed them all of as I booked it,I also booked a hotel 15 min drive from the show...bugger that camping lark,to old now:(

Oh yeah, the tickets are attached to the original booking email! I guess this statement on the order confirmation email should have been removed with this new system as it is reflective of the old system still? That's going to cause a fair amount of confusion I bet!

"This email is confirmation of your order. Your club ticket(s) and vehicle pass(es) will be sent out prior to the event. Your club pack will be dispatched no later than two weeks before the event."

But what about the track time forms etc???

Track time

If you have bought track time, you need to ensure you have a valid entry ticket to the show. You will be sent information from us which contains the vehicle pass, indemnity forms and information needed to get out on track. You will receive this no later than two weeks before the event.

And what about the Club Vehicle Pass so marshalls can direct the hundreds of cars to the correct stand??

And what is our stand number??

Edited by Slick Pete.

We should be sent club packs by email, still not had anything..

And yes slick, you're right.. I just checked the official japfest site and its a drive round to the track.

So this means I have to camp Saturday, then pull my tent down early hours of Sunday morning, fill my car up with camping crud and then drive it round to the site to get on the club stand before 8am?? That's ridiculous.. Why haven't they used the woodland site that's on the bloody Silverstone site? That's what I thought was paying for. Not offsite camping!

Just spoken to japfest event line..

Not particularly helpful or even polite.

Have had to email to receive more information .

Was really looking forward to this event,, not at the moment service at goodwood motor racing far far better..

Rich

I have just spoken to them as well and had a strange sort of conversation with a women there who said that she would ring the club rep and let him have the clubs pass code to give to people who had not received email tickets so they could turn up at the gate with their a copy of the order that was sent to them when they paid originally

And guess what I have just been sent by email

No not 3 e-tickets but another copy of the original receipt of payment

I know of at least 5 on the Z Club who have recieved diddly squat e-ticket wise from them

Is there any chance that there is a pass code been sent out for use on the gate with our original order

I am going to print of my order and have it ready to take with me if the e-tickets don't arrive as promised

But which gate to turn up at? It says you will get turned away if at wrong gate?

What about turning up night before?

just posted up on the japfest website

CLUB TICKET & PASS UPDATE:

We're aware there's been an issue with the tickets and passes over the weekend. We're really sorry for any inconvenience caused and have been working hard to fix our new system and get correct passes out to you.

You should now have received a fresh email containing your tickets. If you have NOT received this, please get in touch with our team on 01959 541444 or email Japfest@kelsey.co.uk.

The tickets and passes can only be downloaded once, so if you need them resent please let us know and we will resend the link for you. Again we apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for your patience and rest assured that all club tickets and passes that have been booked have been issued and are valid.

Just phoned them now... Apparently they will resend them out to me and I should have them by tomorrow morning.... We'll see!

Thanks Joel... Did that info come with your tickets or has it been added to the website?

This is all descending in to a bit of a farce IMO:thumbdown:

My thoughts also Pete. These big events take a lot of organizing and you need to be on top of it to make it run smoothly. Hope you guys get sorted and enjoy the week end. Look forward to the feed backs.

Same as, apparently we should have the e tickets by now, if you have not received them, call the number above.

I called them today and they've said there's been some issues accessing some of the email addresses. Apparently their system has a gremlin which is affecting ticket generation and mailing with certain orders..

They have told me that I will have my email by tomorrow and as Pete said.. We shall see..

Not impressed by the camping situation either. Having to pack up my tent and put it in the car on Sunday morning before taking the car to the track site is going to be a pain in the veg.

Was hoping to leave the tent up until the end of the Sunday and then go remove it! With the boot size on a Z this is a little inconvenient at best..
