just got off hone from Lee

he broke down on way to NEC, pulled onto hard shoulder or side of road.

went looking on foot for road or place name to give RAC

while gone, car was hit by a lorry, and is a write off, but he hasnt seen it yet

luckily had a witness as lorry drove off, witness found Lee down the road and they chased down the lorry and stopped him then called police

police dealing with him now and hopefully they will take him back to car 2 miles back up the road so he can see it

very lucky that he was not in the car and that he is alright.

he will post when he gets a chance to

I find it staggering that the lorry driver would continue driving after this! There's no way on earth (unless he was leathered or drugged up to the eyeballs) he could've missed an impact like that, so it seems it was a conscious decision not to stop.

Thankfully there was someone who saw it all and was prepared to find Lee and then give chase to the wagon in question. I don't even want to imagine how anyone would feel if they returned to their car to find it in such a state without any clue as to what happened!

I feel for you, Lee... truly I do.... :(

Ahhh Lee! :crying::crying:, I am truly and deeply sorry for the rotten luck you've had to endure, I was actually speechless for the first 5 minutes after seeing the state of your pride and joy. I really feel for you mate, try and keep the chin up and hopefully we as a club can lend a hand to try and get you back Zedding.

Again mate, I'm sorry for your loss, as that's what it must feel like.

I hope they throw the book at the SCUMBAG Lorry Driver as he would have intentionally made a conscious decision to leave the scene of an accident... That constitutes HIT AND RUN!!!

So sorry to hear this mate, what a bloody shame. Stiff drink buddy and dust yourself off, put it behind you now and move on.

That's some statement to make!! It's easy for you to say "put it behind you and move on" You haven't seen the time, effort, heartbreak and money Lee has spent to turn that car of his into a show stopper!!!

A lot of us on here have followed Lee's work and efforts for a long time now and to see it all end in some c*nt ripping the side out of his Zed as it was nearing completion is truly Heartbreaking:mad:

I realise you are new to the Zed game but if you plan on holding onto your car, you'll soon come to realise that they are more than just a lump of metal to a lot of people here. The Z32 has a way of getting under your skin and you end up treating it as you would a family member, like a child that you have to mind and help from time to time, you will go through a whole range of emotions from elation to depression and everything in between.

Sorry if you think I'm having a go, but I just had to vent, as I was a little annoyed at your flippant remark.

No hard feelings:thumbup1:

Dude, I am so sorry my remark was seen as flippant, that's the last thing I was trying to be mate. I know exactly how the car gets to you, I spent 3 months looking for mine from a sick bed and worked myself up before getting it something terrible. I have just left it at the garage for some work and im worried to death, I was out in the rain and wind about 20 times over the last two days making sure the cover was still on it, I know how Lee feels. I admit I haven't rebuilt the car and put anywhere near the hours in Lee has. To be honest, I read the posts of all Lees mates and club members offering sincere comments and friendship and i just wanted Lee to know that although its terrible what has happened, I really hope Lee can get the insurance as suggested and put the nightmare of whats happened behind him, to have your pride and joy taken from you like that is terrible and I wanted to offer practical advice, sorry for any offence, I honestly didn't mean it to come over like that, I will try and remove my comment straight away. God I feel terrible now, I just got my membership pack today and was so chuffed....feel like a total Pratt now.

Being a fool do not understand how the wheel looks so different to the one shown in the earlier photo?

EDIT Doh now realise that is the wheel from the lorry

Hi all,

Many thanks for the condolences on my zed as I feel she as just died and I've lost part of my family and soul.

I am so damn lucky that I wasn't in the zed in the first place.

The incident happened at just after 5am this morning when I noticed I have very low oil pressure, both the stock

guage and my aftermarket guage both dropped down to practically zero so I quickly pulled over.

It was then I noticed that she wouldn't start although she seems to crank over ok.

I'm covered by the RAC so I called them straight away and got out my zed and started to walk down the grass

verge so that I could identify a road side marker so that the rac could locate me.

After 15 minutes of walking we figured out where I was on the m74 and I turned around and began my walk back.

When I approached the location on the hard shoulder I noticed a HGV parked up with his hazards on and a man

came over who barely spoke English and asked if I was ok. Believing this was a friendly van driver stopping to ensure

I was ok I never thought anything of it and said i'm fine as i'm covered by the RAC.

At this point he returned to his van and headed off.

It was then I noticed that another smaller van also just parked up near my zed and another man approached me.

He then stated that he just witnessed the first guy trash my zed and then drive off and after that we followed in a chase.

It took a few miles to catch up but we identified him and managed to pull his ass over then we called the police.

I'm feeling gutted over whats happened as I've worked on this build for over two years but i'm guessing the emotions

havn't hit base yet as i'm not as upset as I should be.

The plan now is to get the insurance see if I can buy back whats left and buy a new shell and move on.

Glad I had the sense to get out my zed as I did rather than just use my phones gps which I never even thought about.

I can't believe that the driver who hit you had the sheer *****x to stop, ask if you were ok without disclosing his identity, and then drive off!!

Un.Believe.Able!

I hope he gets metaphorically raped and bulleted by his employer for this, I really do...!!

Damn I am so gutted for you mate I followed your thread and was in awe of the amount and quality of the work put into this car

I am off to the NEC tomorrow and tracking your car down to say hello was going to be one of the highlights for me.

It's astonishing that someone could be such a brazen c*** as to go to drive off after an impact like that.

As bad as it is please don't lose sight of the fact that the most important thing here is that you are OK

You get to go home to your family and that is the thing to hang on to it could have been so much worse.

Someone was definitely looking out for you.

I'm sure I echo every ones sentiments by saying we are devastated for you and if we can do anything you only need to ask.

As per the PM's matey, this has been forgotten about. No hard feelings:thumbup:

Wow so sorry to see that Lee and such a sad story :( glad you weren't in the car, but boy it's a mess :(

The plan now is to get the insurance see if I can buy back whats left and buy a new shell and move on.

Is it really that bad? From the pics I would have thought new panels and part of a rear subframe would sort it?

Replacement rear quarter, rear bumper, replacement door, replacement wing... from the angle of that rear wheel, I'd say multiple new suspension parts and hope to God that the impact hasn't torn the subframe from it's mountings on the chassis!

It's looking like a large and expensive repair at best, and that's just from those initial pictures.

Sad day... :(

Shit the bed Lee - I am so gutted for you mate. Glad you were not in the car and are OK though - but just gutted. After all the work you put in, you'd have done us proud at the NEC....

And as the w@nker driving off - that boils my piss. I am so pleased that there were witnesses; I hope the police throw the book at him.....

I wish you all the best in getting it sorted out.

Richard:clover:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
