i was thinking this site should have a traders feed back section, reasons... it would help us choose who to use or were to buy parts from. help us pick whos best for what jobs on the cars. help the good traders get more biz, make the bad traders buck there ideas up. not just for trader on here but any were you buy or take you car

example i used trader xxxx to fit my new clutch, job was done on time car came back working perfect, would deffo use this trader xxxxx gain 5/5

example i bought back box from trader xxxxxx it tuned up 6 week later and poor quality would not but again from trader xxxxx 0/5

Agree, agree, the trader has set themselves up to supply a service and rightly so they have the responsibility for that, however the point I was trying to make is bad trader + good customer = not good good trader + bad customer = not fair. A trader does not want to be thought of as been bad, but will hopefully try and resolve any issue`s, however a bad customer will never admit to any wrong doing end of, and they do exis,t honestly they do, just stick around long enough with your life in their hands and you will see.

I may have only been doing this full-time for just over a year now, but I've come across my share of bad customers already. Some just want to keep trying their luck, some want the price to reduce partway through a job!

Thankfully, they have (so far) been few and far between for me. But I know they exist and they are, sadly, a reality of any business.

Customers can leave a right load of Bulls poo just to get the price down or free and if you don't go along with it they will try everything possible to ruin that trader as it is so easy from behind the keyboard at home

Exactly.

Also I have never met Jeff or spoken to him at anytime that I have owned zeds which is off and on for around 18 years but I have always known that zedworld was the place to go with it if I needed any thing done. Every business will have a job that goes wrong now and again but if it's got a bad reputation that spreads quicker than a good one. So why do we need a feedback form at all?. With my monaro the specialist is monkfish in Milton Keynes and I have seen a car Come from northern Ireland to go there, that's all the feedback I need for them!!

I work on cars every day, I also sub contract for a company called clickmechanic,

i have done 114 jobs for them, i have 3 bad feedbacks and 111 good, its pretty obvious things can go wrong and may get one or two bad feedbacks but generally all mine are good...

Im polite i do my best but some customers cant be pleased and some jobs i can get wrong (traffic makes me late etc)

So if one trader has 5stars and carried out 100 or so jobs with a couple of bad feedback there likely good,

but if a trader has 100 jobs and half them are bad his either got the wrong attitude or doing something wrong,

I think its a great idea and if i was a trader on here id be happy cause i go out my way to please customers and know id have good feedback, because i have proved it to myself all ready, with clickmechanic, google, facebook...do the job right and explain whats happening and be polite, customers will be happy...

Having run a buisness since 1980 (yea that long) i kinda know what ime doing with regards to dealing with customers ect...one thing is a fact that there are some people out there who no matter what kind of a fantastic job you do or bending over backwards till your looking up your own ass you do they will be on a mission to destroy your reputation which through no fault of your own can take a while to repair again via the truth filtering out. Sometimes it can be something as simple as 2 people not getting on or liking each other, its life it happens and thats cool but whats not cool is after receiving work or services that are perfect they then go about a destroy mission..Should a car forum with traders have feedback??..Hmmm maybe but only on a Ebay style system with the once posted cant be edited or have a 3rd party chip in..

the world has changed all most all sellers trader now work of feed back this site need to get with the times and get it sorted

am sure you will sort out

We have in fact discussed this many times in the past and thought about how to configure a rating system, but IMO each trader has its own trade section in which they post and from experience, anyone who gives praise to a trader does so in the traders relevant section to leave good or bad feedback and therefore no real need for a rating system as such.

It is only moderated if a slanging match ensues normally down to poor communication/misunderstanding from either/both sides, but we do leave if possible the full posts to highlight the facts in any case. Luckily its quite rare to have any issues with our traders and do tend to have been garage related, which is why in the past, we as a club were reluctant to endorse a specific garage.

Zedworld were our only garage trader for some time, through many years of proven track record, great tech posts supplied and community spirit. As stated in above posts there were a few occasions when there where problems, but considering the volume of work undertaken, there are bound to be the odd issue, which are virtually all resolved via communication and mediation through the club if required.

We did discuss a rating system for members who sell/buy parts but not necessarily for traders, i would suggest any feedback good or bad should be directed through the appropriate trade section

Although feedback is a good idea in theory, in practice it can't work on forums since the admin don't want to be liable for what's been said. Also, forum admins are open to be biased, often brushing things under the carpet. That's not a dig at just this place, but forums in general. For example, I know of numerous traders who have done some scary and downright dangerous work, but I get lynched for even having a problem with cars being dangerous. I won't get into it on here, wasted too much time doing that in the past, and somehow I end up being in the wrong for having a problem with particular specialists who really should have known better.

Like I say, it unfortunately doesn't work, though in an ideal world it should. It really needs to so that others don't give their hard earned to make their cars into deathtraps, but it's near impossible on public forums for the reasons above and most of the other posts made in this thread too.

Don't worry, this is all I'll say on it, since I know it'll just happen again if I keep talking about it.

what a cop out ! it needs to be in one section so its easy to scan throw and see not dotted round plus in its own section people are more likely to post feed back in it

It is in its own section, the traders section.

Have you had a problem with one of our traders?

It is in its own section, the traders section.

no issue with traders. but when looking round in the past its been a chase of send people pms to try find out who is good and for what. having in in feed back section would have made it so much better

Ah i see what you are getting at Dan, but to be fair we dont have any bad traders in the section and therefore they are all recommended in their field.

People who have had work done by specific traders should really post up feedback in the relevant trader section, i will try and place all feedback posts in the relevant section and look at a star rating, but again the star ratings would be in the trader section and a member who wishes to praise a trader would be relied upon to use the system. Some still prefer just to make a post though.

Will discuss :thumbup1:

having it in one section so you can scroll throw not just traders on here but when any member get work done or buy parts can do a feed back no matter were they got it, that it would help us all so much

well thats just it some do make a post but when its your turn to buy something or have work done you then have to try and find them posts having them all in one section is the way to role

Didn't we used to have an iTrader Rating for buyers and sellers on here?? I know it's different to what Dan is looking for, but it was a good system to flush out the dodgy f***ers scamming and ripping people off. It was a way of informing people who to deal with and who to avoid. Could we maybe get that back?? I do leave feedback in the Rep section but it's not really the same.
