Hi all,

With all the body work mods I also wanted to make the Z feel more like most big luxurious cars. Cutting out road noise as well as making the car feel more solid.

Also by having 12j and 10j wide tyres, poly/solid bushes though out and quaife diff/leader gear set up I was experiencing droning from the straight cut leader gear and more road noise from the tyre's.

So I set out to fully sound deadening the car using 2 types of sound deadening.

I used:

Silent Coat 2mm Damping Mat uses mass loading to lower panel resonance and absorb structural vibrations, Stop those nasty rattles, eliminate road and outside noise, insulate your vehicle and dramatically improve the sound of your car interior.

8mm Dodo Pro Barrier MLV includes a closed cell foam layer to perfectly decouple the MLV from the panel and block the transmission of unwanted sound such as road, engine and exhaust noise.

The results are excellent the car feels so much more solid and drivable by cutting out pretty much all of the unwanted sounds that can ruin a drive.

The only down side is the added weight of around 50-60kg but to be honest I dont mind the extra weight that enables me to enjoy the car rather than can't wait to get out. Maybe I'm getting to old haha.

All installed in the inner and outer panels.

Forgot to take pics of the doors but I did also replace the plastic weather sheeting on the doors that was removed when being worked on.

Cleaned all the carpet when it was out of the car! Shocking how much dirt is hidden in the carpet.

Did mine too a while back, does make a huge difference, also you may as well get rid of the space saver and save those extra kilos youve just added, no use to you now anyway lol

Nice job done....................... love the sentence "Silent Coat 2mm Damping Mat uses mass loading to lower panel resonance and absorb structural vibrations, Stop those nasty rattles, eliminate road and outside noise, insulate your vehicle and dramatically improve the sound of your car interior"

which in plain English is makes it all quiet!

Jeff

sweet, i bought some dynamat xtreme for when my car returns as its just too freakin loud in the cab :sneaky2:

That silent coat is good stuff. I've used more of that in my car than I'd dare to admit; if slick Pete or Jaffa ever saw the amount installed on a pair of scales, I think they might punch me!

Is that why your doors feel like one of these when closing?
