You mean 'know'? UK speedo should read 180mph and also have kph in smaller lettering. Have you spotted that strange 160mph speedo on ebay? There was one up for a while now being sold by AndyZ which was claimed to be a UK speedo which only went to 160mph. What I could assume with that was that it could have been from a really early test car/press car.

Thanks for reply,no im having some new dials made and just wanted to no what should be on them, phoned nissan who were useless,i thought you would no as you have a lot of posts, many thanks

I expect half of all Nissan employees don't even know what a 300zx is. You'd have more joy phoning the Great Soprendo!

For reference, these are my UK clocks - excuse the lousy illumination:

Thats what i thought ,they need a chassis number for a fuse lol, thanks for the pic ,its a big shame now geoff has gone from zedworld, thought jamie would have kept it going

Also are you the one who does led bulbs in the switches,as i have done it to mine, only problem is the warning light for the rear window goes out when you put the lights on,and i cant get my engine check light to work, bulb is fine, checked wiring to ecu all fine.

Rear demister light will be because you've changed the LED for a white one, no doubt. You need to change the resistor as well, as the standard resistor drops the output to almost nothing.

Thanks for reply, ive changed them to blue, what should i change resistor too and which one is it,many thanks Mark

Why is this is the 'newbies' forum?

I'm surprised he let you off with this one Si

Hi everyone, for some reason my speedo has stopped working, checked the sensor all is fine, when tracing the yellow/black and blue back to clocks, there is no blue wire on speedo plug,.So now i am stumped as i have yellow/black,black,yellow/green,green/yellow,yellow/green,green/red,blue/black and grey. All the wiring diagrams say the blue and yellow/black from sensor go to the cluster, any help much appreciated please.

many thanks for your reply Jeff,so regardless of wire colors as i have no blue wire ,where the pic shows blue i have a yellow/green and across from that a green/red.The only same colors as your chart on mine are the black,grey,yellow/black and blue/black,also i have 8 wires and the pic shows 7,also when i check for continuity frm the sensor plug i only get it to the yellow/black,the blue from sensor plug end doesnt seem to end up at the clocks at all,so should i just connect a new wire from the blue to the yellow/green which is the color on mine instead of blue, would upload a picture but dont no how to on here, many many thanks Jeff for your help.

Could it be worth trying some known good clocks to see if they work. I found a good write up some time ago (when mine weren't working) but I haven't been able to find it again.

What the write up showed was underneath the rivet/screw holes basically looking really old and needing a good clean

yes will do that thanks, but the fact i have no blue wire to clocks is confusing me and only have continuity from the yellow/black wire cheers

Someone might have replaced a wire at some point perhaps. But if it was working before, I guess the wiring isn't the issue

thanks ,but the wiring is original so obviously there is a problem seeing as i only have continuity to the yellow/black wire from sensor and nothing from the blue to any wires from speedo plug, cheers.

They might have had different colours in different year models maybe. But without tracing the wires, I'm not too sure where you'd go.

I'd probably check where is wire is meant to go and check for continuity. Do you want me to try and work out where each wire is meant to go for you mate?
