Yes, you heard it here first! I've been umming and arrrrring over my spoiler for quite a few months now and I have come to the stark realisation that I really do want a change from my 99-spec. It won't happen until next year, but the choice in spoiler I've gone for is a TwinZ Type 1, the very same as JoelyP's. I've totally fallen in love with it after viewing Joel's car out on the open road for many hours at every conceivable angle! I also think I am going to get some MeisterR coilovers so that I can mess about with the rear ride height a little more as it just doesn't sit quite how I'd like it.

I said I was finished with bodywork - but nope, I really want a change!

It's so much neater and more slick looking. It also gives the illusion of the car being more 'squat. The fit is absolutely amazing too.

You said last year that you were talking the TwinZ guys and they had more options being released, anything coming of that?

They're still developing a new front bumper that's more inline with the OEM style. In addition, they are in the midst of producing a range for the MK4 Supra, they've launched some new skirts, a rear bumper, spoiler and some front end stuff for that.

I'm not keen to add anything else, I love the stock TT front bumper and everything else, I'd just like a sleeker more 'fitted' spoiler to clean up the rear lines a little better. :) The 99-spec looks great from directly behind and from side on, but the more I look at it from a 3/4 angle either from the front or the rear, I am questing its appeal more and more.

Ah cool, wasn't sure if they had another spoiler planned

Well well well, that's a boulder that's turned I never thought I'd see. There's only one thing we disagree on now.

Ime a big big fan of the OEM 89 spoiler and with the new proposed its like have the best of both worlds....never been a lover of the 99 and good choice Simon on getting rid:)

I disapprove :scared:

wash your mouth out with medicated soap:tt2:

Out of all the OEM spoilers, they got it right the first time (imho).

However JP's spoiler looks amazing and suits the zeds lines perfectly.

I actually think the 99 spec spoiler is the worst one out the three. :pinch:

Says the man with black wheels and eBay tail lights. :wack:

I've always thought the early spoiler was the best of the bunch. However, there were some aspects of it that didn't tickle my fancy. The TwinZ one ticks some of them boxes and although I don't think it's a "perfect" solution, it's my preferred choice of available spoilers. Yours does look very nice at the right angles though.

They are not black they are gunmetal  and as you know that's fit to change. The eBay tails, are a point we shall have to agree to disagree, I like them.

By spring there will be a lot more approval of my car haha.

Hmmm. I was going to reply to this yesterday, but decided to have a good look around first instead.

I've always been on the fence about the 99 Spec spoiler. From some angles, it looks decent, but there are plenty where it just looks like a bit of an afterthought (in my opinion). It reminds me a little of the old RGA universal spoilers you could get.

The Twinz Type I: I like it for the fact that it lessens the third brake light somewhat. That said, I personally think it's too small.

Because the Zed has quite a large rear bumper, especially the 2+2, I think the spoiler needs to be a little chunkier than the Twinz version.

For me personally, Nissan got it almost perfect straight out of the gate. :)

Agree with everything you wrote.

Another good option for the 2+2 will be the 95+ TT high spoiler, it is very underrated, but I think it compliments the rear of the 2+2 very well.

I've completely changed - so now, I have managed to find a brand new original OEM 89 spoiler. I collect on Tuesday. We can thank AndrewG for my changed mind! I am so torn with the 2 styles, however, there really is nothing wrong with the way this looks.

Had a brand new OEM one not been available (probably the last new one available), there's no doubt I would have gone for the TwinZ spoiler. Any of the replicas I've seen have been less than perfect both in terms of fit and of finish. The OEM one feels so nice to touch and it's a period piece, along with the car!

....then there's this, one of my favourites on the net.

Why don't you just de-mod your car completely and have a bone-stock Zed?

No, I won't be changing any of the mechanicals or the wheels. The body though is going practically stock except for the lights and black roof bars. I like the fit and finish of the OEM body parts and interior plastics. My brand new single DIN and trim clips turned up today as did my new single DIN Alpine head unit.

Out of interest, who do/will you entrust to do the paint? I'm always worried about colour matching with stuff like this

The same chap that did JoelyP's paint. The whole car is going to get some attention as there's plenty I'm still not totally happy with.

Great choice Si.

Any possibility of finding a second one do you think?

I would really like an OEM one also.
