Curious to know what a z32 would sound like with just straight through stainless 3inch pipes and no back boxes/silencers?

Like it's blowing?

I've started it with just downpipes on it and it sounded like a tractor lol

Wanna have 3inch custom pipes all the way to the back with no silencers but hVe welded bolt joins at the end where the bad boxes would be so I can have the option of running with or without them.

Am I mad?

I think you'd be mad to leave them off mate, you'll probably have problems with the law and residents in your area over the noise, you'd also be excluded from track events also?

Yeah you're right but, I AM THE LAW.....

Like I said I'd have the option of having back boxes on and off.

Here's a vid I found on YouTube with them off from the front although mine would be all the way to the back

So would sound better.... I recon.

Take off sounds insane. Idle not so nice...

I've the z1 exhaust, hehe, yes it's very loud, even with bungs it's still 105db, sounds Great for a while but novelty wears off real fast.

I'm not changing it though...

Yes yes YES that's what I want but that's only available For Shorties. Soooo, will have mine custom made.

Sounds like a great idea frankly.

Watch this space. Coming soon to an A road near you.

You seen the electronic by pass pipes? Like some of the yanks use, big y shape pipe with an electronic valve inside , closed it goes through the cats/ back box, open it dumps it normally through a side exit... not that I'd thought of going down that route with my 370 lol...

You going to Beaulieu? My slicktop will be there with that z1 exhaust on it.

mine is straight pipe, not actually all that loud, sounds awesome too

Yassa, PLEASE. Show me pictures of yours. And maybe even a video with sound.

Have a few ideas now of what I want it to look like.

Bloody el. Bury st edmunds brings back some memories.

Surely being a straight through 3inch pipe all the way to the back should cost less aswell right? No need to buy silencers just 3jnch pipe ?

Some awesome sounding cars there - but I think I'd get tired of that noise after a while.....

.......I guess I must be getting old.....:wheelchair:

You'd only get tired if it was your daily drive. I've only done a few thousand miles in the last 6 years. When i do drive it I want it to be different and a bit crazy I also take it out when I wanna get my own back on the world

Seen as I drive a smart car on a regular basis and everyone on the road steps all over me. Complete opposite in my zed, people sometimes pull over to let me pass, or they always let me pull out just to see the car and give me a thumbs up.

uhoh what sort of memories lol

seriously could be worth a trip up though and of course maybe a pint while you are here

I have back boxes on my vh45de but they are pretty useless... I get near 101db in the cab

Tbh it sounds awesome, but for a long drive its pretty soul destroying.

What about ear plugs :mac1:

Jimmy, I have a complete 3" system with very small rear silencers (I asked for a Sporty exhaust note, LOL), it is very loud. I hate to think what it would sound like with no rear silencers. Maybe they would have left the silencers off, if I said no to the sporty one, and make it as loud as possible.

I keep meaning to get a video clip of the car, to hear what it sounds like outside the cabin. Inside the cabin it is very loud at cruising speeds, but they rest of the time it sounds awesome! Like you I wont be doing mega mile each year in it so it's great to have something different when I do get to drive it. I have a few picture that I will try and post for you. I'm guessing the rear silencers aren't over 5" dia

If your really keen on having it LOUD then why not fit an electric dump tube. That way you can flick it on for hooligan mode, and have it shut for when your bored of it/the police moan/mot time/track days. There's a whole goats if occasions when you don't want to be ultra noisey, esp once the novelety runs off.

Some good ideas.

BUT if anyone ever attempts to start my car when I'm sleeping, it sure as hell will wake me up. Grand theft alarm .

Jim I run a full 3 inch system with a resonated H pipe and no back boxes. Give 97db at 5500rpm, so passes most track day noise limits

Niiiiice nick. Ideas ideas...... I'd prefer two big oval rear shaped pipes like the z1 pipes. But this is making me think again.

Nick, just went through your photobucket and you still have a couple

Silencers in the centre section? Or are they cats? So will be noiser without these.

No they're not cats bud. It's a Kakimito H pipe that I carried over from the Kakimito system I used to have
