Hello everyone,

So I bought some "new" volk f-zero wheels recently and can't wait to get them on. They are 17 x 9 et 45 on the front, and 17 x 10 et 48. I had a quick look against stock and thought yeah that will be fine, before noticing the HICAS!! :(

So I have worked out that on the rears I will be 6mm wider on the outside (fine), but on the inside I will be 32mm wider!! Oops. Obviously this won't work with HICAS and will hit the linkage. So what are the options?... I have 15mm hubcentric spacers, which will reduce it to 17mm wider on the inside, but will this still be too close? I can't tell at the moment as I don't know the sizes of the wheels on it currently.

If spacers would work then I can get some extended hub bolts which should be okay? Also the spacers I have aren't bolt ons but are apparently hubcentric, will they be okay? Personally I am thinking stick the 15mm on the front perhaps and get some decent hubcentric bolt on 20 or 25mm spacers on the rear?... Hmmmmmmm

Cheers!! William

delete the hicas. best thing i ever did,

Even if you delete the hicas the arm will still be there. Your only option is to run an appropriate sized hucentric spacer. To push the wheel further towards the arch. If you go too big you will hit the arch. So measure what you need to go out by then buy that size. If you need help gimme a shout and we can look at it together and work it out. Shouldn't be difficult though. Also make sure if required you use a spigot ring.

10" @ 48 should be ok. I run 10" @ ET 40 on my rear. Mind you, why did you go for 17"!?! I think the diameter might cause you some issues with that width. 10mm spacers would help, but you'll need longer studs and an arch lip roll.

Thanks Steve, much appreciated as always!

Dan cheers for pics, I guess the point is if they are fixed then as long as the wheels fit there wont be any movement once you are on the road for anythign to rub.

Si, I saw them for sale and grabbed them, really hard to find the f-zero wheels and love them. Do you mean I should have probably gone for 18"?... It sounds like a lot of hassle with an arch roll etc to get them to fit.. argghh what a shame. It was mainly to replace the f-zero alloys on the car at the moment which to fit as they are an inch narrower, but the previous owner ruined them with a shocking respray.

ahhh I want them on thre car haha http://www.sti-club.su/upload/137207241831633_main_img.jpg

I will play about with eth spacers I have at the weekend and do some test fittings... see how close to the bone it it. How much do the HICAS knuckles move when driving?

The hicas joints push the hub, so the gap between them and the wheels won't change much if any. Rolling the arch isn't too bad I did mine a few months back.

okay I will have a play and see what it is like! may just get away with it....

Rear subframe is probably too much work at the moment. I know a lot of people do it for the performance?.. I am not quite there yet.

Yup! They're too small visually....imo. but also, with a smaller diameter and the fact that they're wider could mean that they won't clear the hicas joint. They might just.

17" F-zero on a Z32 - they look rather underwhelmed.

Tyre choice has a lot to do with that though Si. So etching with a nice sidewall will make it look muscular rather than lost. I agree though 18" would have been better.

You coming to beaulieu will?
