Lots of chit chat about the event on Noels thread... and plenty non relevant chat too.

Lets hope we get a decent turnout. Its a great event to watch but maybe not for everyone to take part.

Ian Greenfield has arranged for a priveleged 300ZX club parking area also.:thumbup1:

Spectators need to liase with Ian to ensure entry to the club stand.

This thread is for those competing who have confirmed(paid) entries.

Today was the last official day for entries but with 48 places remaining tonite for the main competitive Sunday event Im sure they will carry on accepting entries.

So........

1. Slick Pete. (main goal is not to be last in RWD class)

2.Ian Greenfield.(main goal.. beat Pete. 13sec quarter. 140+ flyer)

3. Jaffa

4. Bobgenie.(Eurospec team car)

Well Im safely back home and had a great day.

Rain came on schedule just before 2PM to spoil the finals etc

Despite running an all time personal best quarter at 14.54 I still finished bottom of the table.

Thats the problem with a non turbo car. So Im on a high but didnt achieve my goal on the day of avoiding last place on RWD

I was 3mph down on last years time on the flyer KM . I might have found that if the rain had stayed away.

On the day it is what it is and I came away with a well running car and a happy driver.

I completed 4 runs on the handling but was slow.

A good day all round and thanks go to Ben at Eurospec 2000 for the loan of jack etc:thumbup1:

Im sure Ian and maybe Bob will be along some time to tell their own tales

Just home too Pete have to say apart from the rain spoiling things a little I got pretty much the results I was aiming for.

A sub 14 sec qtr mile and a respectable 135.7 mph flying kilometer.

As is always the case I'm sure I could have done a bit better on the flyer top speed if I'd got into 5th a bit earlier I recon I could have just squeaked 140mph. One think I did learn is that from 135mph zebedee takes some stopping so a brake upgrade now on the shopping list.

In all as pete says this event is loads of fun our zed's are never gonna win but we bring sex appeal to the whole proceedings.

As far as the club stand was concerned TMogsy and Mondo along with a new member Ben flew the flat nicely and there was a lot of interest as usual in our cars .

Its a very rare sight. There are probably only 10 cars in the club that get used in anger.

My shift light is set at 6800 and I dont change up till I see it light up.

It looks like we are quite slow in the vids and compared to a lot of the cars we raced we probably were but in car I assure you it felt anything from slow. It was a great day.

Hi guys just got home it was a long weekend. Sorry I didn't get the chance to speak much but was busy trying to nurse the car around. Yes we got some good times but it took a lot of work by me and Jordan (Eurospec pit crew). But the engine lasted the weekend which is amazing as I was losing around half a litre of oil into the catch tank for every quarter mile  Didn't do much on the Saturday as just needed to make sure all the settings were right and didn't want to push too hard however RWD was very strong on Saturday and while I was 4th in RWD with three Dax Rush / Caterham types ahead I was still top ten on the handling overall. Today we managed some crazy numbers on the strip with a couple of terminal speeds of 138 mph and one of 140 mph which bodes well for next year. I held off doing a top speed run as didn't want to kill the engine and sadly when I did have a go it was already wet so only managed a very slippery 157 mph but it was FUN.

In the handling I was pleased with the 2nd place behind the Dax Rush and in front of the GT3 but it was pouring with rain in the shootout and while I managed a very sideways 44 second run it wasn't enough to get a podium. I was 18th overall in the handling which isn't the top ten I was looking for but we are getting closer so maybe next year :)

Well done all the fellow zeds there was a decent turnout in the end and some decent times being done particularly Neil Weyman who once again showed what can be done with a LWB full weight car. Not slow at all despite what some may say :)

There is a fair bit of interest in the zed with a lot of people giving us proper respect. And that respect is not just because we have proved the car can be competitive but from n/a to standard full weight or show car we have shown we are not afraid to give it a shot on the track so well done boys.

I didn't take a single photo as usual so thanks for those that did.

See you next year :)

You can't complain with a PB Pete. I only did four runs on the handling too :)

I didn't see you all day Ian apart from a hello when you arrived :) Car looked good!

Well done Bob, good to see those terminals coming up to where they should be, it'll be awesome with the new engine I'm sure

Thanks James actually the terminals shouldn't be anywhere near that. We put the car on the dyno last week and re-mapped to reduce risk of it blowing at TOTB and I am currently running 370rwhp. Add approx. 60rwhp with the NOS and I suspect I wasn't even the most powerful zed at the event :) I didn't expect to break 12 seconds so am really pleased with the results as it proves we are getting somewhere with set-up.

I will be doing an MLR sprint at Hethel 12th Sept and then one at Rockingham 10th Oct if anyone fancies it :)

P.S. One negative was that I forgot to do up the bonnet pins and when it came up broke my brand new windscreen :(
