Has any one relocated their cruise control buttons ? i use this feature quite a bit. especially when I'm on the m25 those pesky speed cameras are getting annoying

I'm looking to buy an aftermarket steering wheel but most of them only have a horn button.

just wondered if any one else has had the idea and rewired the cruise buttons

cheers :)

I have seen the steering boss collar with the cruise control on it I'm sure there is a member on here with it installed, and I have also seen them on line.

I think Funky Si, has relocated his buttons from the steering wheel.

I'm thinking of putting them in place of the cluster dimmer buttons in the right pod, it looks to be a similar sized hole.

...why not just put them two spaces up, where there's actually a slot for them?

I think there was someone on here that took the original steering wheel cruise buttons and retrofitted them to an aftermarket Momo wheel in pretty much the same spot. Think it was before the forum was updated though.

Because I don't have a slot for them, and I can't personally make as neat a hole as Nissan made for the dimmer buttons. So I'm hoping they're the same size. Haven't checked yet though, not got the car at the moment since it's getting the body repaired. I also don't have the cruise control buttons on the wheel anyway, since it's got an aftermarket one.

Perhaps yours is different, but some have cruise control on the sidepods:

Mine doesn't have cruise control at all so the slot just has a placeholder.

Yeah, that switch is what turns the cruise control on or off in the first place, and you then control it with the buttons on the wheel.

So how does that work if you have the four-pronged wheel?

Not sure if the cars new enough to have an airbag wheel even came with cruise control, unless it was an optional extra still. In short, don't know.

Almost! My car came with a Momo Race wheel on it when I bought it....but it had cruise control. I fitted another more 'fitting' steering wheel and wanted to re-instate the wheel. I had the CC buttons plugged in, so knew it all worked, just couldn't find a decent location for them anywhere.

I'd been bugging the guys at Z1 to send me a cruise control stalk from a late spec version that would have come with airbags from a JDM RHD front clip that they may have, but they never had any spare until out of the blue Jon called me and said he'd now got brand new ones in stock - WHERE DO I SEND MONIES.....and this arrived! :)

Tried it for 'fit'.

The carefully modified the steering column shroud (as later ones don't fit) and I have a factory look. :)

Here it is with my old steering wheel.

Does it have to be a late spec car for that to fit?

Nope. Mine is a 91. The bracket is there already and the unit slots right in. You'll need 4 screws like the ones that hold the indicator stalk into its bracket.

Then of course there's the wiring as it's not plug and play.
