Headlights not sitting flush

Hi all,

Has anyone had problems with the headlight not sitting correctly across the bonnet line?

I changed my originals as I had a spare set of head lights that I had a few mods done to (Internally only).

The top of the lights that meet the bonnet doesn't stay flush. I've removed the headlights today and looked at to brackets that appear to be straight as I thought they could be bent.

Any ideas?

Thanks Dan

Mine were like this and had to bend the brackets slightly, I'm guessing all cars line up slightly different,

I went a bit ocd with mine adjusting panel gaps, but now it's like an audi lol...

Think it's more when you start swapping parts over, same has the doors they have washers that are welded and I've changed a few doors and they never line up. I had to remove and re weld washers to make my doors fit perfect...

Thanks for the replys. My previous lights fitted perfect! I'm wondering if the light has warped in the removal of the glass or possible the glass not sitting level once it was stuck back down again.

More likely that the metal struts that the headlight is bolted to have bent slightly.

In red....did they though Dan, are you staring at them more now than you ever did before.

Your others points, no and no. You don't need to warm up headlights all that much for you then to tease the glass away, never heard of this before.

As said point the finger at the brackets and bend them a tad and/or use washers here and there, again as said.

I have a corner which when it goes in for a full respray needs aligning/bringing up and forward, so in the meantime I have to use a few washers on the front studs.

Yes they did fit correctly as it was something I checked when I bought the car they was untouched. I previously had warmed the headlights up when I removed the glass to soften the sealant when I originally worked on them.
