Hello there, I'm new to 300zx engines, sorry to say that's all I have, anyway I'm looking at putting this engine in a transit, I have a twin turbo engine and gearbox from a manual, I think it was a j reg car z32 anyway I've had a look around your site and already the wiring diagram is gonna be very useful, thanks very much :) I'm in Bournemouth just wonder if there are any experts around the Bournemouth area who I can quiz about where all the stuff goes :) anyway, looks like a great site. IMO these engines are really strong, but they now have a good age of them and mileage, some much more miles than is shown on the odometer!

Factor in the varying levels of maintenance and abuse over all these years and some might not tolerate too much more!

It all depends on the last 25 years of maintance schedules. The engines are very strong if looked after regularly. Best thing you can do is get the engine compression tested or ideally leak down tested before you start throwing time and money into it.

the TT project i think he didnt finish it due to time and £££ it was up for sale only few months bk

I seem to remember watching one of the top gear episodes,there was a transit with an Jaguar XJ 220 engine plumbed in to the middle of the van,it was quick but Can't remember what it raced,they must be quick with a 300 tt engine,would this be the same kind of set up? In the middle or at the front of the transit?

Mk2 transit, the engine is going in the front, basically I bought a tt engine manual gearbox, I have most of the wiring apart from an ecu it was either this or a bmw m5 v8, and for room (it already has a cosworth v6 in it) money, and hopefully I can get the same power as the bmw for less cash, well that's the plan anyway :) I'll try and put a picture up but I'm not brilliant with computer but here goes :)

Ahhhh so your mr Palmer? I used to ride at slades farm so I know kev etc. Don't live far just off turbary park common.

When did you used to ride at slades Stephen? What 300zx have you got? And what mods (if any) have you done to yours? I'm just round the corner from you, I'll have to pop round and check it out with my list of questions :) cheers.

Up until about 2010 I'd say, I was part of the next age group down. Kev would know me a sixbolt. I'm very busy for the next three, four weeks but after that I'm free.

The cars a JDM import manual twin turbo. Mods wise there's a fair list but it's mostly handling mods ATM. Hopefully getting it mapped July time. Fingers crossed.

Australian v8 ute i think he raced.

 

But yeh the van was quick.
