I still have what I consider to be terrible brakes.

I have changed my discs twice now and still get steering wheel shimmy when braking anywhere from 40mph and above. Is this bush/steering component related?

Under hard braking it is fairly easy to get the pedal to its full travel. To fix this I have bled numerous times, replaced the brake servo and brake master cylinder and also flushed the fluid. (when I say full travel I don't believe the pedal is hitting the floor, but it definitely coming to a dead stop. Any ideas?

Many thanks

Have you bled them properly ?

Still sounds like air in the system with that much travel,

As for the juddering there are various bushes etc which can cause vibrations under braking. Best idea is to get it on a ramp and check it out.

pedal going all the way to the floor on mine ws dont to the flex in the break booster get some one to press the pedal and you watch it flex get a brace for it will sort it rite out

ok with the Pedal going to the floor could be a Few things ..

1st .. Air in the system

2nd .. Bad Master Cylinder

3rd .. Over compensating Servo

even tho your foot is going to the floor does the car Stop and bring on the abs ?

I recently fitted a new BMC. I installed it dry then filled it up and bled it through the ABS unit. Job done, no air in the system, didn't need to touch the calipers and brake performance very good.

Cheers mark. I was thinking along those lines, but with the cost of replacement I was hoping it wasn't the case.

Yes, I can get the abs to kick in when doing an emergency stop, but only from a fairly low speed. If I try to brake quite hard whilst going fairly quick the brake pedal stops mid travel and wont press any more, the steering wheel shakes quite violently and the car dosn't stop as quick as think it should safely. I guess I am experiencing brake fade also..

Yes I bled the ABS unit. I will study the brake booster for flex. Does anyone here know of anyone local to Stoke on Trent that can drive my car for comparison?

Thanks
