Hi guys,

Beauty on ebay right now. Heater not getting hot is a bit of a worry, but apart from that looks good. Going to view it tomorrow ;)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-Nissan-300ZX-3-0-Twin-Turbo-Fairlady-Manual-LWB-2-2-Incredibly-Clean-/301644341451

So, a lot of activity on this one, new interior, seems really well kept. I reckon it will achieve a strong selling price. I will update this thread once I have seen i in the flesh.

Best regards,

W

I looked at that earlier, looks pretty clean. Likely the heater matrix or actuator for the valve needs replacing, but not the end of the world in the grand scheme of zed foibles

Certainly reads pretty well and looks good in the photos! Proof is in the pudding though. Be interested to hear your feedback, as we all know many sellers bend the truth rather a bit too much and often they are selling a lemon!

I wonder what colour the engine bay is?

Looks a tidy car - and like Stephen says, I have certainly seen that one up for sale (somewhere?) before...

......I concur with Graham on the heater problem; but as said, just another minor foible of 300zx issues really - and considering the age of these cars now, not the end of the world.

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I think that car was for sale in a garage near Arundal West Sussex a couple of years back finished up in a garage in Fareham Hampshire.Look very carefully if it is the same car may not be as good as you think probably find the engine bay is very different colour for a start.

That particular Z31 screams 80s and not in the good way. Two tone paint, pop up headlights and the digital dash instantly date the car. It's not a lovely 60s or 70s piece of craftsmanship, it's not one of the early pieces of precise engineering it's 80s gimmick. Like I say I like the Z31 and I'm always pleased to see one, I've even considered buying one, just not to have it scream that much 80s at me. Also the digital dash is whispering to me, "I'm going to break, I'm going to break and be impossible to fix or replace"

Ha ha there is nothing wrong with the Eighties Stephen  and trust me this car is a beauty and a great investment

apart from the dreadful music, fashion and politics :D

:thumbup1: just check out the description: Australian car, genuine 50th Anniv, not messed around, not your everyday Z31. Hope it finds a genuine collector to appreciate it.

Don't disagree it's definatly an investment, just wouldn't jump at that myself. I'm a product of the 80s myself. Just about says it all really.

Hi Guys. Just finally managed to visit the Yellow Zed. As people have mentioned respray in a better yellow, engine bay is pale yellow.

In summary a really nice car, here are the positives and negatives.

Positives:

- Exterior is perfect, no rust I can see apart from surface rust on exhaust mid section perhaps.

- Wheels/tyres look alright.

- bodywork all seems straight and true.

- Seller seems genuine with reason for sale.

- interior is ACE! Really nice genuine leather smell similar to that of my brothers 911. Very very clean inside.

- Gearbox feels VERY tight, and nismo shifter makes the shifts feel shorter. No rattles etc.

- Engine starts pretty much straight away cold and hot.

- Engine is silky silky smooth!!

- Exhaust sound is really nice. Great powerful note without being overly loud.

- Pulls hard with minimal lag

- No smoke hot or cold, and no noticable smoke on or after boost.

- No noise from stock suspension. Smooth ride.

Negatives beyond whats already mentioned in ad:

- when you blip the throttle it bogs down before picking up. most noticable and idle/low revs.

- Water dripping from passenger sun visor fitment. (only minor though as it has been a wet day).

- minor oil leak mentioned in past few MOTs. no noticeable drips but possible a bit of damp on underside of engine... Hard to tell though on a wet day.

- Seemed to pull to left, but could be bad tyres (at least a few years old).

- Boot seemed to be missing a bit of trim under spoiler, 1inch gap between lights and boot lip. Possibly swapped at some point.

He mentioned there was some kind of oil pump cut off switch installed at some point, but has never been touched.. Sounded odd.

So yeah I would buy it if I didn't have my Zed, will be a sound investment for someone I reckon!

£3850 - that's a good strong price for an eBay sale. That's assuming its not relisted next week for some reason.

Prices certainly seem to be climbing a little. :)
