I'm wanting your ideas really on what might improve the looks of my car (externally).

Generally, I think I looks pretty nice but as with everything, there's always more than can be done so I'm interested in what opinions people have.

Please don't be shy, I certainly don't take offence if others are keen and all that.

Here's a couple of pictures of the car:

I'm not too sure of the lines on those 99 spec bumpers, both of those pictures with the bottom lip doesn't look quite right. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it reminds me of a snow shovel without side skirts, this is only my opinion so please do not take offense!!

The profiles for me should continue around the car, however with the lip and no skirts, the profile taken from the bumper abruptly ends at the front wheels.

For me both standard bumpers are super sexy for the original lines, but as soon as you start adding to the bottom profile it needs to be replicated around the car.

I hear where you're coming from, however Lee's car does have side skirts.

Ahhh, cheers Si, so it does! That'll teach me to join a thread halfway through!

In that case, 89 with lip.

I really like the 99 spec. But will I get the most out of it with being a black car, I'm not so sure tbh. One of the pictures andrewg posted with the stillen lip looked sooooo good

I have to say, I did like the 99 on Dougal's car, but with the black it is less prevalent so i will have to jump on the bandwagon and say stillen lip :P.

(Yes i know the Last picture is a Z1 lip)

a 99 with no lip just on its own. job done

Stillen lip and skirts! But then I would say that..... :whistling:

I really like the way the stillen lip continues the line down from the wheel arch, it looks very oem IMO,

I think I achieved getting both sides of the lip sitting the same, AndrewG pointed out to me at Beaulieu how usually the the lip sits further out one Side than the other, thanks for the pointer Andrew :thumbup1:

My front bumper never looked right with the side skirts until I got a stillen lip.

Does your car still have the side skirts? Do you want to keep them?

It does mate. And I think they'll be staying in some form or other

This is the visual problem I feel is present with both the Stillen lip or the 99 spec front bumper together with side skirts and stock

rear bumper. The OEM visual form for the car with '89 front bumper, sills and the rear bumber is for a curve around and in as the

outline approaches the ground. You can see this in the first picture from the '89 marketing brochure (centre diagram). The second

and third pictures with the 99 spec front bumper and Stillen lip respectively both with side skirts show the effect of changing

that original form but leaving the stock rear bumper. You can see that stock rear bumper looks "tucked in" because of the visual

aspect of the front and skirts. To me the even the OEM cars which had 99 spec front bumpers and side skirts looked odd because

of this. Just my 2 cents worth.
