I'm wanting your ideas really on what might improve the looks of my car (externally).

Generally, I think I looks pretty nice but as with everything, there's always more than can be done so I'm interested in what opinions people have.

Please don't be shy, I certainly don't take offence if others are keen and all that.

Here's a couple of pictures of the car:

Definitely don't paint them! Rubbers flexible and it'll look arse in no time, I was thinking more like a rubber blackened that you use on tyres, not sure if those specific products are ok near glass though

Some shoe polish? Lol

Back to Black or the likes (Autoglym trim detailer etc) should freshen up the rubber/ faded plastic matey

Some shoe polish? Lol

Don't laugh matey - that can actually work, especially if the rubber has become porous as it has aged.....!! In fact the type of shoe polish formulated for football boots might be better, as it has superior water resistance:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Look how much tidier it looks now, man!! Such a small thing makes a big difference...!

Good job

Thanks Si, I'm running out of things to do though. It will be lovely once the retrimmed bits go back in and the other little bodywork bits are sorted.

nice jobs look better for sure. just the white on the tyres letting it down

Indeed. With the attention to detail you're applying to the car, the lettering certainly detracts from the finished product. Either way, as Mondo says, it's great to see a few little jobs here and there making such a big difference, I'm sure many people will be inspired to follow suit.

You never know, I might stand a chance in car of the month one time.

I don't even know if I could take the lettering off. I can always redo it if I can

Have you thought about a front lip such as the Stillen one Richard has?

Next small job could be to refurbish the strips at the side of the winscreen, they look tired. Also remove that tax disc holder magnet

  • Author

The strips and OK actually, the white bits are polish.

I've been thinking about the lip but I have a more major bodywork thing to do first... The rear arch has bubbled. Plus the skirts will need replacing or fixing a little at some point

Another thing.....get rid of those ebay indicators and get some version 2 JDM front indicators. Gary did this after me bugging him for ages....and he did and he is now a really happy man. :)

You can pop the orange filters out quite easily by splitting the lenses.

Natalie Younger is selling a pair of these indicators, if I remember rightly :)

Just send her a message on FB and ask if she still has the JDM "lined" indicators.

She didn't post any pictures of them, she just mentioned them in her "boatloads for sale" post. :)

You're useless, Lee!

It's in Z32 Marketplace, dated 23rd May. If I've just found it (on my phone, no less) then you can! First picture is a bright red plenum.
