Branson Z Fest is close behind though, but that's mostly because I'm good friends with most that go. :)

It honestly depends on what you prefer.

Do you prefer single day events where it is just show?

Do you prefer one make/model events?

Do you like weekend events? Camping?

Do you want to track the car?

For me, LakeZ is the one I won't miss. But that's because I know many of the people who go and I assist in organising it. It is also a very relaxed and informal social weekend.

Some folk think JAE is the be all (I'm not one of them, but each to their own).

Le Mans is an epic trip if you go with a group of like minded folk.

Personally I don't think there is a single great event in the UK. They all (mostly all anyway) have their merits.

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

LakeZ I haven't been to but it sounds like that would be more up my street.

Japfest I hated and with JAE you can see it all in a couple of hours - too many guys with their tops off drinking Carling in both of these

In terms of UK shows - I loved the NEC last year, that was awesome. The summer stuff at Beauleau is always nice too - very relaxing.

I didn't think much of Japfest to be honest, been a few times; as Sir Charles said above, other than the track time (which I don't participate in), the rest is seemingly just a sausagefest of chavs and poorly modified cars with their LEDs flashing and their subwoofers thumping. JAE has never really appealed to me (as a show/venue) - but I haven't been, so can't comment on it. I'm not really into the modified scene (bodykits, lairy paint, LEDs everywhere and flamer kits) which is mainly what it seems to be geared toward and the enticement of 5-a-side football, pub quizzes, karaoke and tug-a-war have done absolutely nothing to gain my interest - you look at the 'activities' on the main JAE website and you'd be led to believe it was some sort of event for under-privileged teenagers, not a car show. I know there's more to it than that and I am sure the camaraderie of our club members make it a lot of fun - as with all club events.

Zedfest I haven't been interested in either for a totally different reason - driving hours to go and camp outside a scout hut.

I'd really like to do LakeZ one year. :)

Horses for Courses really

I find that as I've got older my preferences and expectations have changed

Used to love the Enfield Pageant and the Bromley show but over the years these lost their appeal for me

Used to love the gatherings at JAE, the Z00* meets at Billing and ZedFest but now the camping side is no longer an option for me

Japfest was fantastic in the earlier years but now it seems that there are less traders there caused by the internet and economic down turn

Used to love any of the HSCC meets where there were about 5 Zs included in the race card

Think my favorite event now is the Lakez where we hire a cottage and a few of us stay up there for part of the following week doing our own thing

Also like the Donnington Historic and the Oulton Park Gold cup where there is a gathering of the earlier Zs and to watch 3 days of Historic Racing

And also absolutely loved the 3 ZCCA conventions I attended in the States

You guys are spoilt for shows on the UK mainland. Living this side of the Irish Sea we do have car shows but I would never see another 300zx there. Thats why I am looking forward to JAE for the chance to see some great 300's and the chance to meet the members who are on this forum daily. What I miss most is the chance to jump in the car and meet up with fellow zeders and I watch with envy as you guys do it all the time. I will see you lot in September

Look in the national events sub forum. I have put LakeZ details in there.

You may struggle to find accommodation local to the venue this late on in the year, especially as there is a horse meet at Cartmel races on the same weekend.

There may be some B&Bs still available, but most likely these would be outside of Cark. Although the Engine Inn in the village still had one room left a few weeks back.
