Play in HICAS system

I have some play on the NSR wheel, wobble when you hold the wheel at 3 and 9 o clock position and shake it. There is no wobble vertically.

The play isn't from the outer ball joints, but from either the inner arm joint or the rack itself.

Can the rack itself have play or will it just be the inner arm joint and will this play/wobble on the wheel cause a vibration at speed?

Thanks Guys...

Langdon4x4 on eBay sells the hicas track rods at a very good price. I know for a fact that the later 300zx with electronic hicas uses the same part as the r33, and the early hydraulic ones appear to use the same as an r32. Tell him I sent you from the skylineowners forum, and you may even get a little bit of a discount. He sells the balljoints too if needed.

The HICAS 'rack' is actually a ram. The play you're noticing as has been suggesting is the inner joint. Replacement HICAS arms come complete with the joint.
