Looks Legit :w00t:

Been out of touch for a bit with top gear as they're setups were irritating when planning a stunt. however i did enjoy his banter.

such a travesty that the BBC have not taken such a keen interest in removing the ranks of Kiddy fiddlers actively still employed or pensioned and well known amongst themselves, the whole thing smacks of hypocracy and diverting attention tactics. yes Mr Clarkson was outspoken and controvertial but at least he was in touch with the vast majority of the viewing public.

Top Gear will become a chinese copy of itself without him, it will look the same, be cheaper to make but will only last a few months.............

Is he on the verge of being sacked? im guessing if he is suspended its the same as if i got suspended by my work, meaning he is hanging by a thread pending some sort of investigation.

If he is let go, surely he will just end up with his own show similar on another channel which everyone will probably watch anyway? By getting rid of him they must realise they will lose a lot more than they will gain. big decision to be made by the bbc.

The truth will out eventually about what happened. There will be no end of alternative options for him if the short-sighted BBC decide to axe one of their most lucrative programmes (whether you personally like it or not). However, I understand that the BBC part-own it, so maybe the ITV/SKY version will be called something different.

I think Top Gear has started to run it's course and is beginning to look a bit staid and run out of ideas, but this will be a good test of the BBC to see if they have any B*ll*x, whichever decision they make ...

I've read most of his books and they're excellent, very funny and well written. He is Top Gear. But you can't punch a producer 'coz you're food isnt ready, that's "Diva Central" It sounds like he's either a bit bored with the show or has lost his hunger or wants to do something different. (I'm told an abundance of money can have that effect!)

All good things come to an end at some point. If he just walked out coz he is fed-up we'd be debating who should replace him. Maybe his time has passed. I'll miss him and would want to go back to Top Gear with Noel Edmonds and Chris Goffey (pleasant and all as they were). There's someone out there who could give the show a new lease of life......who is it? Some have already suggested Chris Evans, though not a car guru but a complete petrolhead nevertheless.

Sorry....that should read.."would NOT want to go back to Edmonds and Goffey......"

The BBC now full own it since buying out Jeremys share last Sept.

Dead right Steve....

.....Sure, social media will no doubt be filled with smug irrelevant sandal-wearing vegans celebrating in what could potentially be the end for Jezza. But that is always the way with such mealy-mouthed types. Sure, he might be offensive - and some might (wrongly) claim that he encourages dangerous driving etc. But the fact remains, TG is a source of entertainment for several million people - if one does not like it, or agree with it being broadcasted, then switch off. But please, do not impose one's own views on others - if x-million still enjoy TG, then let them watch it. It's a free country!!

Used to be you mean !

Come on guys lets get real

If someone threatened to punch someone at their work place or an area associated to it what would happen to them

"if Jeremy is locked into a contract with the BBC, what's the easiest way to get out of one? Gross misconduct. Maybe there is a Sky deal awaiting round the corner?"

now theres another Slant (oops almost used a Jeremy word there) on it

He would be gone Steve but if the Company wanted to keep him they would find a way round it.

I would expect an internal investigation and a disciplinary action in the event a guilty verdict was found!

However the BBC is a public corporation it is supported 100% by the public giving the bosses the right to buy and sell programs in order to turn a profit for there bonuses. Whoops! sorry shareholders (taxpayer) As a licence holder whether you want to be or not you, have a right to see the programs paid for by your license fee and advertised by the corporation as part of your viewing entertainment.

If I hit someone at work, I would expect to be disciplined if proven at fault, I wouldn't expect my customers to go without the products they have purchased because I am told I cannot deliver them!

No so much about Clarkson, more about program delivery. He will appear elsewhere with a new program on another broadcaster and the BBC, thereby License fee payer will have to watch the 300 million viewers worldwide (for Top Gear) switch channels and see the BBC income fall by another £15 million a year. (pre tax)

It apparently happened a few days ago but was only reported yesterday? Sounds like someone's got it in for him and telling tales instead of him actually hitting someone. None of us know for certain what happened, or if he actually did hit anyone. Besides, I remember when John Prescott punched a disgruntled British citizen after only being egged. He didn't lose his job and was subsequently knighted...

Prescott! Now there's a miscarriage of justice,, he should of fallen on his sword not be knighted by one!
