Hi Guys/Gals

The time has come to own a 300zx, I'm only on my third car, having owned a nissan 100nx, a standard Mr2 Mk1 and currently my rather fun Woodsport converted Mr2 Mk1 2 litre turbo.

Currently I'm selling my MR2 MK1 2 litre turbo due to a few reasons mainly due to me not wanting to use it as a daily driver because it deserves better than to suffer our winters and quite fancy an extra 2 seats and also go back to a targa after missing one since having the mighty 100nx! So I'm going to get a cheap run about for the winter and a 300zx for the spring/summer months. The 300zx is one of my all time fave cars and having spotted a few recently it's wetted my appetite for one in a big way.

I should have about £4k budget for the 300zx and ideally would like a black, manual, lwb TT.

If I was to find the above in say a N/A with great bodywork etc how much would it in theory cost for a garage/300zx specialist to convert to a TT?

I'm a student paramedic so funds aren't copious but I don't have the mechanical skills or nouse to do something like that myself.

P.s just saying but if anyone fancies a 225bhp mk1 turbo weighing around 1 tonne, 275 bhp with the addition of a boost controller and upping boost to 15PSI let me know :)

Welcome to the club matey. That's a lovely looking MR2 you have there, the Azev wheels look great on it.

Prices for the 300zx seem to be on the up and decent cars are becoming increasingly hard to find. £4k should hopefully still be a good sum to get you a nice clean car. All you need is to sit patiently scouring the classifieds; on here, pistonheads, ebay, gumtree and any other place where one might pop up for sale.

With regards to your N/A to TT conversion, my advise is don't bother, buy a TT from the off or you'll be facing big bills. Choose carefully and ideally take a knowledgable enthusiast with you to view potential cars to buy, plenty of folk on here will give up there time to help a fellow member purchase a car. Don't restrict yourself to a particular gearbox, a manual conversion is a relative inexpensive mod if you find a decent auto base model. I would also remove your desire to get a black one and be more open minded to buy the best you can find for your budget, regardless of colour.

Subscribing on here to become a full member will be a great start to your search and subsequent ownership of a Z32, you'll find a wealth of knowledge and information on tap so you've come to the right place.

Thanks guys, will get subscribed on my next day off.

That's quite good to know re the auto as it opens up the search a lot more, as does the colour choice, ideally black but yeah definitely open mindedness will give me a lot more choice.

Quite like red too, this was my cheeky little first car :)

Welcome to the club mate.... If you think a 100nx and an Mr2 are cool just wait til you get a Z

Lovely little nissan. The MR2 looks like a minter. If it's as good as it looks then as you probably know , its worth top money and a bit more due to turbo etc. A NA/TT conversion is likely to end up costing you more than buying a decent TT. Good luck

Hello & welcome!!

I've been looking at your MR2 1.5 on RR :D
