My heart had already sank as you can expect, but when I saw that to I just saw red. I've already apologised to him, but still can't believe we'd said I was going round for 1pm as he asked, with a fistful of cash, taken the day off work and everything. Even my kids were in bits about it, which made things worse.

Yeah, that would have boiled mine as well, tbh. Keep your chin up mate, you will find one :)

facebook is full of glitches, was telling people i was female at one point 0.0

ooooo errrrrrrr missus................ lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Yeah, that would have boiled mine as well, tbh. Keep your chin up mate, you will find one :)

I really hope so, I'm this close to giving up on having a nice car at all, nothing seems to let me. Just about had enough. :(

He said he was on the lookout for one, but not necessarily for you! [emoji13] You better get yourself one quick before Noel gazumps you then removes you as a friend in Facebook!

Hahaha, he's found me a nice SWB I'm (hopefully) buying tomorrow.

Yeah had a look at that na off Tony not a bad price noel!

Shhhhh!! Someone might bump me to it

Time for some hardcore NA mapping sessions!

I already said id give him what he wanted for it delivered to me, he said the tax just ran out so he couldn't drive it over. I've got cars coming out my ears at the moment if I could of been bothered to drive over and pick it up itd be on the drive now haha

I would also have been very disheartened and annoyed at that too. However, looking at it from the sellers perspective, if I was selling my car and after I had accepted an offer, a friend of mine offered the same money, I too would let down the original buyer for 2 main reasons; firstly, out of loyalty to my friend and secondly, the knowledge (assuming it was a good friend) that the sale was a certainty.

For all the seller knew, you could've pitched up knowing he was desperate and made some wild offers or tried to negotiate the price down (I'm not suggesting that you would but these things happen). I would like to think that the seller was aware and mindful that you hadn't quite started your journey or inconvenienced yourself too much when making the decision as anyone with a conscience would, but when you really need such a quick sale, sometimes you can't afford to be "nice"?

Don't give up on buying one, when I bought my first one, I had been searching for 18 months and after viewing/testing 11 300zx twin turbos around the length and breadth of the country, I had lost a lot of enthusiasm. One day at work a colleague bought in the local rag (one that if never heard of in fact) asking if I was still looking for one of these; it had a tiny ad in the classifieds amongst the 7 or 8 other cars inside for a UK spec Z32 and was only a few miles up the road! I'm sure many others share similar stories.

There are still lots of good cars out there, so you may not view as many in that timeframe, but hopefully you'll find a goodun, certainly so if you up your budget!

Thing is when speaking to the guy on the phone, every bit he told me that was wrong with the car, I responded by explaining exactly what I thought it was and that I'd get it sorted. Couldn't have been any more keen if I tried, and he knew it.

In his shoes, if my friend had turned around and done that last minute, I'd have told him to piss off since someone I don't know is coming out of their way specifically for it. If they were a friend who wanted it they'd have expressed interest sooner before watching me pay to advertise it, etc.

This isn't match.com. God damn Back Door Traders.

There's a modified TT manual on eBay for £2k

Hopefully this link works

No pictures of the actual car would put me off I think

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

And how did all of that end? I've never had any problem with Phil (redbaron) and in fact he even went as far as personally delivering a gearbox to zedworld for me a few years back.

I know he had some major health issues a few years back so this could have been around that time. Might look back to see but from memory I ended up speaking to his son. I last saw him at LakeZ last year and he was considering selling his car due to continuing health issues.

Plus I'd have thought, if the trading issues were that bad once (the then) TLO was finished looking in to the matter that the seller would have been refused to sell or possibly banned.

Put it this way I would not say what I did without proof or evidence and Richie K lost interest in the club after this. I could go on with more info but the fact is that he can not be trusted in my eyes. I stand by what I have posted and will stand up for members who have been wronged.

So we don't know the outcome, that's all I'm saying and the point I was making. Don't want this to turn in to a witch hunt or anything that's all. I feel it should simply be a case of you're a registered user so can't sell. Surely we don't need to put more into it but if there is more to the people who try to sell on the forum, should we consider that people who have trading issues just shouldn't be allowed to sell? Not sure if it's something the clubs considered in the past.

The outcome was Richie paid a lot of money and got nothing for it.

So was there no committee action taken back then? I just checked back and it was 2010 I was talking about when I'd spoken to his son but it was later in the year and was due to a bad car accident. It was actually the January I'd bought the gearbox
