After a very very very long search for a good zed at a good price I've finally come across one...BUT, it's in graphite grey! I've seen a picture of this car (and other standard graphite zeds) and it looks like an extremely boring and dull colour.

Does anyone out there have a graphite grey zed who can prove to me just how good this colour can look?

Ideally I would love a black zed... even more ideally, I would love Andy D's black zed. But, good black zed's are hard to come by (in fact, any good zed is hard to come by at the price I want to spend!) And, I can't afford Andy D's zed.

I think John Dixon has a grey 300, and it looks cool, it is the SWB TT though.

I have a black 300, and to be honest they are a pain to try and keep clean, atleast you don't have to clean it much if it's grey ;)

What a grand to respray it at a later date?!?!?!?!!?

Everyone knows the fastest and best looking ones come in Silver or grey, and are auto's........:D

Seriously, the grey ones can look VERY nice, especially in sunlight. Can look a bit understated sometimes, but that can be a good thing.

As HERMAN said, black is a sod to keep clean, and unless your black paint is in perfect condition it can look PANTS (imho - I went to see loads of black ones when I was buying, and most of them looked SHITE! The only decent looking black one I saw was an N/A, but I was after 'Full-Fat')

Go and have a look!

Well of course, after RED, then blue is best. :D

Grey can look very nice, however. Besides - with Zeds unfortunately you go for the condition of the engine and bodywork and worry about the colour later.

If you've found a decent one - nab it! They are few and far between...

Anita.

Well, I think I'll definitely go take a look at this zed on the weekend (just hope that it is still there when I do).

And, Anita, you are definitely right about judging the car car on its condition and not the colour.

It sounds like I'm being a car colour racist!!!

Any chance one of you can mail me a pic of yours or anyone elses grey zed please?

Thanks guys n gals.

Black is the best colour for a fast Zed and the dirt is blown off the car if driven fast! If you are only going to drive it slowly then any other colour will do as no one will be looking at it anyway.

:)

I thought Gay Spaceships were silver and Auto? :D

My Black TT MANUAL :D Shows up all my stone chips a treat!

my Zed is a lovely grey..

it sparkles in the sunlight(well if there was sunlight)

go see it firstI really like the colour meself....

I had a Capri (sorry) in metallic graphite grey and very nice it looked in the sun too.

I've seen Zeds in this colour and think it's terrific. But of course, silver is the best colour. And not all of them are gay :)

I used to think grey was the worst colour (after bright red), but they look nice and cool and understated, which is why imho a Zed looks so cool.

So grey suits it.

So I now think metallic grey looks really nice on a Z. It's also a fairly unusual colour, bit like a Z being an unusual car !;)

Mine's white BTW

Colours, Colours, Colours!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not playing this game anymore. Although you're missing the point.

Forget black/silver. RED IS BEST

i think the grey z's look cool also, i think my red z was originally grey, and i'm seriously considering having it resprayed when the summer comes, altho ive seen a nice metalic aubergine colour, almost black in the shade but when the light hits it its kinda of a pearl effect, just have to see how much cash i got next year and see then.

I've got to be honest - the zed looks pretty good in all colours - even red (and I normally would not have any car in red!)

Thanks to all those who pointed me in the direction of grey zeds, and having seen them I'm a lil more optimistic about this grey one. And, thanks to all the others for their contributions.

The best standard colour in a car I've had, and have ever seen is the Honda Crx's celestial blue. The amount of times I've been stopped and asked what colour it was...

John,

I think those pics have definitely made me see graphite grey in a different light.

And those wheels look great too. (the rear could do with a lil bit more dropping though!)

ive also got a gray Z and when it is polished it looks amazing dont look at my rides pics cos i had just been to london and back from leeds towing a supra so quite muki lol

My car's grey too - it's a lovely colour. I'm into my twilight years now (I'm 30), and I'm more interested in the speed and mechanical capability of my car. I love the grey one because it's so understated, and it's much less of a target for joy-riders, vandals and other motorists!

Plus it looks gnarly!

Russ.

One more vote for the "My zed looks great in grey" club.

I looked for a long time for a black or grey zed (red was choice number three), and after having a black one first, I've now got a grey one and love it ... it looks great when polished (other than the sh1tty chipped bits:D ) ... Classy and understated.

Let's face it, regardless of the colour, when they need to *show off* they can!!!:D :D :D

CheerZ,

John.

Same spec as mine!!!!:D

Hopefully going to get a RED respray at the end of next year though.
