Is the ford maf cheaper? I realise you need a remap to use it, but just wondered and by the way, it doesnt matter what you ask or how many times lol, there are members here who may not remember or not know about some of the info either reposted or mentioned for the first time.

Its what the forum is all about

Thanks for your comment and yes i beleave the larger 150 maff is cheaper.

I know in the past, some tuners have recommended the Ford F150 MAF in place of the Z32 MAF.

I dont know the voltage stuff as im not technical as well you know but its alowes the air volume to be greatly increased over the standered maff. Whitch i think the limit is around to tune to the 500 mark.im sure the Noz man will tell us the act facts.

I have just recently purchased a Nistune setup from our Nistune dealer Noel.and for thoses who dont know as i didnt un-tell recently. Nistune basically turns your ECU into a fully mappable system. It is a board that is fitted into a standard ECU. It's a popular system.

The latest firmware has launch control & flex fuel (E85 capabilities) heres a pic.

This will come with a bassmap until i get all my goodies fitted.you cant beat a mapping with the Noz man.

Rember reading this a couple of years ago.

Allowing the engine to breath adequatly for the inteended power band.

the z32 maf typically reads 5volts at 550 bhp. BSFC" plays a massiv part here, Noel has mapped zeds higher than550bhp on a single oem maff. An F150 maff for example messures 5 volt at 750 bhp.

BSFC= brake specific fuel consumtion.basicaly how much more power is produced per fuel consumed.

reduce bsfc by helping the engine be more effiient and you make more power for the same amount of fuel. Or the same power using less fuel.

just like to say your car looks amazing mate what a nice zed love a zed in red as well:) I will be buying one of these nistune ec1`u

As said mate a very nice dual intake, but for sure try it for fitting now in case you need to make alterations. Made quite a few intakes in me time including the Zeds dual ones so I know it's a struggle!

The MAF being bigger by half an inch is a big help, whilst voltage plays a big part as does the volumetric size of the MAF, so good job :-)

It's a single intake.

It was in reference to the size (length mainly) of the intake in the above picture being so large and my own experience of making/fitting various types of intakes to fit, single and dual.

Hopefully he's had a bash and knows either way now.

Yer had a look itll be tight but is doable.and should it not fit behind the fmic then itll look pretty seating there in the intake of the large bumper opening of my planned twin z spec bumper.so it will fit though.cheers.
