That looks the same spec and description of a car for sale a few months park through a dealer was around the £4k mark. I thought it had sold but looked a good but at the time.

If I had the means I would bid for this myself and keep it stock. As you say a good but for someone in the market.

.....the auctioneer won't be doing his job properly if he doesn't "run it up" near/to the reserve. The real skill in auctions is spotting when there are no other real bidders when the auctioneer is "running it" (even if he appears to drop the hammer as sold).

You can then approach the rostrum to find out if there is a bid on it and make an offer. I have bought many cars after they have been under the hammer

You are dead right mate but the car is only sold if the Auctioneer says its sold and like you I have bought many cars at Auction and its a scary place for the first time buyer. But do your research check it out before the auction starts, watch them start the car and drive it down and ask the driver to open the bonnet.

this car was for sale a few months ago cant remember were it was

This car was for sale at KGF classics for around £5k not too long ago. It sold, then very quickly ended up on eBay & sold again.

Now its at auction, I'd be wondering why nobody has stuck with it recently.:detective:

It has always looked like an excellent example on the adverts.

Slightly misleading if it is the same car. Mrs Barnes sold it to KGF who sold it back to its original owner, he didn't get on with it so sold it back to KGF. They then sold it to a guy who spent a few quid on it as it wasn't quite as described by KGF ( spoke to him when he had it advertised on ebay), who sold it at a classic car show. So it's had at least another owner since then. Not quite the 'same owner for the last 18 years' that the latest ad states. Lovely example either way. I'd love it but a new roof is priority according to the Mrs!
