Alright guys and gals. Finally got a z32. 1991. Twin turbo manual. Very happy. It does however look a bit tired on the paint but nothing I can't sort there. Done 90000. Mechanically it's great. No smoke. Boost needle where it should be. Sounds great. New timing belt. Very happy. However. What are the tell tail signs the clutch is going?

Pictures later date as I don't know how to put them on as I am on my phone aha

One of the best mods you can do to a Z is HID headlights, the original headlamp bulbs are like candles! Heard good things about the nightbreakers though.

Had the night breakers on my celica, they do make a difference. However with HID I know they are very bright and look awesome. But with the wiring I have never really looked at them. I'm alright with wiring but I'm a bit unsure... probably because I don't know the car well enough yet :)

Two things today before I go London. ..

One brake light was out after changing bulb etc. Had a look and noticed the wire had been cut... don't know why? It's too short to spice into... looks like a new housing.

also I have chromed up the engine cover... looks nice :)

Here is how it looks at the minute with my fibreglass front cover. Just finished painting it... had to cut all holes out myself, hence the odd look aha

Please don't make your car look like this one (for example):

;)

Can't see the picture mate :/

Ah. Wondered if that might happen. :(

It's a picture of a Celica ST182 with a full Vader kit on it...

Mmm. Not wanting to offend dude, but I'd probably have spent some time tidying your car up rather than do what you've done; it looked nice in the first pics you put up. The stance at the back looked/s great! :) Appreciate it's your vehicle, but spending time on stickers and vented nose panels when all the trim is peeling. the tints are lifting etc etc....do you still have the original nose panel? Have a go at straightening that front bumper, or even get a second hand replacement as it looks like it's riveted together, an engine pan cover/support, redress/paint those roof trims etc. :) Just a more productive use of time for your project...? :)

Fully understand where you are coming from mate. Tidy the car up then think about other stuff. I do agree with you to be honest. I just get carried away aha

Also sorted the boost probleM out... It was only getting 0.6 Barr of boost no matter what setting it was on. Turns out the fuel regulator vacuum hose was in the wrong place so it wasnot ready correctly or if anything at all. So it was a fueling issue that stopped me from getting major boost. Sorted now. This may also be the problem with the very poor dyno read out with the afm all over the place and it only making 320 hp at 15psi of boost? Much more than that now... having to drive steady as the clutch can't cope aha

Why on earth did you fit that 'thing' to the front of it?

Honestly... I don't know anymore XD the days of the huge body kit have gone luckly

Where was the FPR vacuum line connected to?

The FPR won't directly stop you from making boost. If it was running lean on boost, it may have been knocking which would put the car in safety mode with reduced boost. Assuming the boost solenoids are still in place, of course.

It wasn't connected to anything. Thats what the problem was. The more power I put down obviously more fuel should go in but it stayed normal hence why it wouldn't go passed 0.6

Yes, that would cause it to run lean on boost and rich below atmospheric pressure (compensated to a point by lambda feedback if O2 sensors are operational). As I said, the only thing that would cause the boost to remain at 0.6 bar would be if the car was going into safety mode from detonation being detected.

If it made 320bhp at 15psi, then it clearly wasn't restricted to 0.6 bar in the same way. Plus, it wasn't lean on boost, as explained earlier in post #55 after you posted the graphs.

How did you get that picture? That is genually my car lmao

I'm on a lot of forums.... ;)

Sweet I was just looking at them aha. Thankyou

Copper: BKR7E or BCR8ES. Depends on power level, boost level and usage of the car.
