Not too sure if this is a common problem. I haven't been using the car much lately but while its been very cold, I've noticed the inside of the front windscreen getting water/condensation/ice on it.

What I want to know is whether its just the it is or if there's anything I should check. For example if the window might not be sealed properly or if there's something else that could be causing it

Change in humidity, with The car not being used the moisture has no chance to evaporate. I used my dehumidifier in the car to extract the moisture if it builds excessively.

Thanks Steve. So do you think it's worth getting a dehumidifyer to just keep on top? I'm going out with a towel in a minute like lol

Shouldn't really mist up inside unless you have a leak or standing water inside, even with a change in humidity.

Any ideas where there might be a leak? i know the side window lets water in a little when its chucking it down

The dehumidifier won't cure the problem but it extracts the moisture to at least get ahead of the problem that may exist. You may want to check your carpets for any build up in the boot space area. The reality is unless you have gone to the expense and trouble to get the car resealed you will always have moisture build up if the car is outside and used little during the damp cold periods.

The dehumidifier works well providing you seal the power lead in to wherever the lead is fed. I would recommend one.

I saw a video of a guy who used cat litter ( yeah bear with me) it was the high silica type cat litter, fill a sock to enough to allow you to still tie it, place it inside another sock and again tie it, simply place this in your car somewhere ( id suggest under a seat) and hey presto a cheap but very very effective dehumidifier which uses no battery...

cutty

seriously bird it worked perfect, just don't use smelly socks or used cat litter...lol:crying:

I used them humidifirs from amazon.u get five for a fiver.and they work a treatr. But cat litter if not using u car for a while. Then ho pet shop litter tray and some odor free stuff. Works wonders.unless u have a heated garage like Si

I would assume your targas have a little leak, gets damp inside and fogs up. Any seal like that that allows dampness in will cause it. That's why I use a car cover, my targas still leak a touch and without a cover over a few months it can get a bit damp.

A common one is the damned rear window, puddles up in the bottom corners and leaks through. Then the spare wheel well gets wet.
