Hicas delete query

When people have completely removed the Hicas rack from the back end, what do they do with the power steering lines that used to attach to it...?

Plug the ends? Remove the lines from the car completely...?

Any thoughts, please?

To remove the lines completely is quite time consuming. Most people either fit a return on the TT Hicas PAS reservoir or fit a PAS reservoir and pump.

I mean at the rear end, Si. Removing the Hicas rack will leave exposed line ends, won't it...?

Correct, but you'd bypass from the front, so you'd drain the lines. From what I've seen, generally people leave the lines there under the car.

remove the whole lot its pretty simple I did the whole lot inc the all the pipes was about 2 hours doing it am sure some could do it much faster its very simple to do

if you want the half a job fix then remove the hicas rack and join the 2 pipes you remove from the hicas rack then you can leave the whole lot in the car that's the fastest way not the best but will work fine

Seems silly to just leave useless pipes wafting around in the breeze...the proper way is to delete ALL of it and use an NA pump and reservoir, that brings complications though as it's not just the pump the bracket is required yarde yarde yar. IMO it's acceptable to bypass the hicas feed line directly back to the pot. I'm doing mine this winter and have a few ideas to try.

its really simple to remove the whole lot once you start it you cant really go wrong

Even I managed to remove all the hicas lines and i'm certainly no mechanic yes its time consuming and can be a proper pain in arse but hack saw is very handy for the ones that go up through the engine towards pot and the ones at the rear passenger wheel arch are a total twit to get to especially if car is not too high off the ground key for me if i was to do it again car as high as u can get it and a dremel with cutting disc would really speed things up it took me 2 days from start to finish but the self satisfaction was great if your not in a rush and don't need the car on road just get it off the ground and do as and when u can :)
