winter tyres....

Hi Guys,

MOT has gone through today, and failed only on 2 rear tyres, no advisories wohoo!

What do people think about these winter tyres?... They seem pretty good value compared to my local tyre shop who was asking £220 for some avons...

Best regards,

William.

:) it is the first time in this car that I feel as though I can tell the difference with the HICAS kicking in for responsiveness above 50mph. Might be my imagination but feels a lot better, and also I am no longer going sideways everywhere. wish I had gotten a set for teh front too.

I used fk452 tyres on my last zed which was a daily drive, they were bloody awful lol!

Never had a problem with mine! They're pretty grippy! I had Bridgestone for a while - over rated!

IMO tyres are one the most underrated "mods" you can good tyres with plenty of meat that arn't a hundred years old can transform a car.

Agreed! So much variation in performance AND noise. My winter tyres are actually quieter than my summer tyres. I might get some Yoko summer tyres when these Avons need replacing. Grip on the Avons is actually very good and I do drive my Leon quite hard. But they are a noisy tyre.

Last year was the first year I bought winter wellys for my DD....you know what, I hate the snow, but it didn't friggin' snow! But they are better in the wet than a regular summer tyre. Not really noticed much fuel consumption change. Guess I could run them all year round if it wasn't for the cost of them!
