I have never used my zed as a daily car but I'm maybe getting a new job which would mean I'd need to use it to get to and from my work would be around 60 miles all in per day anyone give me a rough idea how much it would cost to run it would be 4 times a week so 240 miles a week

Depends so much on what type of roads you're going to be on. I can drive from Filey to London on 3/4 of a tank but can use half a tank just batting around Scarborough on a weekend

A cruising speeds, 240-300 miles is about a tank of fuel. At the current rate, about £80 a week, about £350 a month.

Will be mostly motorway a few miles before to get on the motorway and a few miles after to get to where I would work

You should do that on full tank at the start of week and have it last all week if it's a TT My TT is more economical than Jan's NA !

Yeah mine is a manual tt. I get to claim back expenses with my fuel receipts but doubt I'd get as much as I need for the zed but I'd be going from 1700 a month basic to 2800 a month basic so the added fuel costs would be able to be covered

Yeah, you should get about 280-300 miles out a full tank, lots if factors will effect it. Good luck, least it will be fun.

I'm contemplating getting myself a small van as I do a lot of work for myself but it won't be straight away so would end up using that for work but would probably use the zed for a few month to start with

My little van does about 600 miles to £60 so it might pay for itself buying a more economical daily.

That's about it - bank on no more than 250 miles per tank (around £80-90 a pop, depending on where you buy your fuel) with mixed driving and you won't be disappointed.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

What he said.....plus as you will probably accumulate bit n pieces of "stuff", the boot of your Zed wont become a "van" !

U don't want ur Z to become a working van

Get a van & use ur Z for driving!

Otherwise sell ur Z get a van! Simples

Yeah maybe getting a job doing the wiring on ships but it be self employed hence why once I get some money together in get myself a little van to use

yes you can get a little for really cheap now there are loads of them I have a transit I need a new one now but a good one costs shit loads

I am making this move now too and getting rid of the daily e46 320D. I get 600 miles form the BMW for £80. But the zed sits unused and gets sad and lonely, so I have started my 50Mile daily commute in the Manual TT zed. for £40 (at £1.25 per Liter) I get 165 Miles, And get 330 miles from a full £80 tank. So a fill up gets me a week commuting and some weekend fun. costs me around £13 a day, compared to £6.50 a day in the bmw. Also the zed is £20 a month of tax, compared to £15.75 a month for the BMW. then again the general running costs of two cars leaves me only slightly down each month by commuting in the zed. So I am happy.

BUTTTT... the zed is so much nicer to commute in. What a way to start and end the day!
