Anyone got any recommendations for the best place to get a Hicas delete kit from? Based on my recent investigations, I think Z Centre's coming up trumps at about £176 delivered.

Does anyone know of anywhere that can top that...?

I have a HICAS delete bar if you're interested. It's never been fitted and I had it powdercoated black.

.....I also have an NA PAS pot. You'd just need an NA pump, although you can do a bypass on your TT PAS pot.

Or...

Refurbish your rear end accordingly so that the HICAS can do its job properly.

Many people slate the HICAS system, but then most have significantly worn components so it will feel poor.

Theoretically, if the HICAS rear end is all tight and fresh, but you still don't like the action of it, then simply unplugging the HICAS solenoid under the bonnet would be enough to disable it and the rear would remain tight and straight, no need for a lockout kit.

Lonezedder is correct, however repairing the blasted thing isn't a cheap option, £80 Isherwood quid per hicas ball joint for starters. I personally don't like the way it works, it's great for overtakes which is what it was designed for that and slalom work but when thing get out of line it can make things unpredictable and many don't enjoy the floaty sensation as if the rear is slipping already.

If you have decided that deleting it is the way forward you have two options, a lock out bar or a full delete kit. The lock out bar simply licks out the hydraulic action, it still relies upon those worn hicas bushes and arms. The full delete kit replaces the arms and bushes to create a similar set up to how the NA is so whilst the kit is more expensive it will actually achieve what you want.

I'll be going down the full delete route, I think - it'll save a little bit of weight too, which is always nice. :)

As I said in my PM - Driftworks is your only bet - but PLEASE powdercoat it black from that revolting orange! :)

Any garish bright colour under the car looks terrible IMO - a blot on the landscape. Keep it neutral and easy on the eye. Black/dark grey being the nicest.

I've stripped all the adjustable arns apart from the chromed ones and painted then a few nice thick coats of hammerite, much nicer and durable too.

Did that with my KYB shocks. They're now black. I did that even before I fitted them! I have no horrid colours under my car! :)
